Can anyone pls reco a solid backlit gear indicator that is priced reasonably? Importantly, who to do it, and where?

mm..depends on what bike u are riding bro...if suzuki or kawa..den u might wan to check out GI pro with ATRE..tink its abt 200 bucks...normal gear indicators like one frm pz racing is 160 bucks frm racewerks....it looks good to me as its water resistant and 2 years warranty...

Mine is a flip chart with N, 1 to 5 mounted on my left handle bar... when I change gear, i flip it according to my gear shift : )

general gear indicator can fix on any bike as long as yr bike run on electronic speed sensor rather than cable type.
