These drivers who think that bikers' lives are worthless need to be stopped.

we (rider + pillion) were travelling down the 1st lane this morning on upper bukit timah road, when a black mazda 3 SGM4959G swerved out from a filter lane right into my path. the driver wasn't watching traffic at all, he had a phone glued to his ear. we hit the brakes and horn, swerved sharply left to avoid a crash, and nearly got beaned by another car coming down the 2nd lane.

we ended up in front of that mazda, and i turned around to give him the finger. eyeballed the dickface - young chinese idiot, looked like one of those corporate twits who probably wouldnt break a sweat if they left a rider lying in a bloody pool at the curbside. OL girlfriend in the passenger seat.

i gestured angrily at him, and the anus had the CHEEK to wave his phone at us and wave back that he photographed my bike.

what a total asswipe.

in '07, one hit-n-run driver left me with a broken shoulder, fingers, and a few inches of steel road divider impaled in my thigh. enough. i'm going to lodge a TP report, will be willing to testify in court, and dont give a rats' shite even if he's got photo evidence of my glorious middle finger.

watch out for this car and other assholes like him. anyone else have similar experiences and know the TP complaint procedures?

The next time you see an ******* like this from the left lane be prepared to slow down give way or speed up.No point arguing with this type of cockbrain.Just last week one MPV nearly side swerve with my MPV where he doesnt slow down on entering the highway where my MPV was in the right way.One moment i think is to aim directly at the driver side to gave him what was like to cramped in the driver seat but again there's no point doing that.Singapore drivers nowadays are becoming more ******* and selfish. My advice to you is either you slow down or speed up.Dont challenge them they got 4 wheels where you got 2 only,No matter what cc you're riding you cant win them in terms of collision.

I do not know if TP would take up this type of cases. You might wanna enquire with them thru their hotlines. Or alternatively you may wanna seek legal advise for your next course of actions.

I guess nothing much we or the authority can do about it, even you can get the driver red handed, is your word against his/her.

Ride safe brother, thats all i can say.

To those reckless one out there, will be your turn sooner or later if you continue to do so, and i pray hard you are able to tell your story. Bless You.

With every good wishes

the only way for them to slow down, is when they see a bigger vehicle coming their way..

ah well, it all voice down to whether u r willing to go through the trouble to get that assface to get what he deserved. if one is willing to press charges against the errant driver, will the authorities just sit back and do nothing about it? hope u WILL send in a complain letter to tp n c what r they gonna do abt it. do keep us updated.

hi,

Just my 2 cents worth, when u report to the police do inform them that the driver was on his handphone and note the time. I think police would take a serious view of handphone use while driving. If they can confirm that driver was on handphone then you got a strong case.

Will update if the biker wins the case :)

well i believe not only him there even more reckless... they just cant be bother because they think they 'rich' and have the 'right of way in everything'

There is someone out there for me

I know there is someone out there

I know she is waiting so patiently yeah

Can you tell me her name?

(Somebody tell me her name)

This life-long search is gonna drive me insane

How does she laugh?

How does she cry?

What's the color of her eyes?

Does she even realize I'm here?

Where is she? Where is she? Where is she?

Where is this beautiful girl?Who is she? Who is she?

Who is gonna complete my world?

most importantly i'm glad you are okay :)

nowadays road like shuffling majong..cars go in and out in and out..

Hey bro so glad that you're alright man..

Anyway, from what i've read throughout the years with regards to close-shave incidents.. you've got to be really careful with ur precious "finger" gesture..

The government classifies this as "road holigans" i know it's natural instinct that everytime we get a near-missed.. our fingers will pop out naturally but.. honestly no point getting into unnecessary trouble.. in future if ever this was to happen to you again (i sure hope not).. blast ur horn and swing you palm upwards rather than ur finger.. this way it's not as offensive :)

Invest in a decent helmet-cam. Ride around, capture video of offending driver using handphone, record license plate, send video to TP.

Other than that, unfortunately, it's hard for the TP to even open a case. There are many other pressing matters. Such incidents happen regularly on a daily basis. Granted, it is road safety at risk, but it is also incredibly hard to prove who is right/wrong.

Best thing to do yet, is to ride defensively and predict crazed drivers in the first place! Bukit Timah = hot zone, heh. Rich lao aunties who are too freaking old and are unable to/cannot be bothered to check blindspot, to rich kids whose dads bought them a fast ride for their 21st b-day.

And on the finger gesture, yea, other drivers may not spot the vehicle violating your right of way, but they're prolly gonna get a good look of you flipping the bird. Hefty fine that carries!

Smile! Tomorrow will be worse.

some of these drivers are unbelievable, they are totally in the wrong, and i'm obviously a female rider, and STILL they'll challenge me to a roadside punch-up.

car owners will only be careful if they are motorbike owners too.

Agree that we are on the lose lose situation since we are 2 wheels.

no offence to our fellow neighbouring countries citizens..., but last time we used to think that m'sian drivers and riders are dangerous... but now... look at Singapore... to me i felt that we Singaporean drivers are worst...

its been so long...

simple, just take pix of him using phone n driving, best u can get ur GF to videocam dwn.

then send to TP with ur contact stating u wanna complaint abt this hero using phone on the road + send to straits time forum n stomp.

Likely TP will respond n will charge the hero if the hero denied then u got to go dwn to court to be witness lor.

Wat is troublesome is that u got to make several trips to TP or courts depending on the situation.

As a rider, you just have to ride defensively and switch on your headlights at all time so that arseholed like that will notice you.

Switch to high beam if necessary in day time.

It doesn't make any difference whether a motorcyclist has the right-of-way or not, the rider is the one most likely to get hurt.

I witness a similar case of road bully.. i was sitting in the car with 2 friends, my friend was riding his bike, behind us.. suddenly i see the van on lane 2 along PIE.. the malay guy (with his gf at the passenger seat) started to take out a metal pole and wanted to hit my friend. so i wind down my window and we shouted at him, asking what the **** he wanna do?.. he was swerving from lane 2 and 1. i mean come on, what are trying to proof?.. **** off and stay on your lane 2.

after we reach our destination, i ask my friend what actually happen, why that madman wanted to take the metal pole and hit you. he said just because he overtook him, he start shouting and ask my friend to go down RS to settle.. wtf? road bully? swerving in and out? whats the point of fasting during ramadan, you disgrace the malays with your actions.

I wonder if it's all a vicious cycle. Car gets annoyed at a biker for reckless riding, holds a grudge against bikers, then takes it out on other bikers. Bikers experience the car driver's behaviour, then elect to ride a little more recklessly (e.g. fast lane splitting) to avoid mad car drivers. And the cycle goes on. The only way out seems to be to ride defensively and be aware of your surroundings. Easier said that done.

equip your bike with tomatos and chilli.. the moment u spot such drivers on the road, hit that red button and BOOM! His screen dirty.. Lol.

*jokes aside *

I guess the best way is to be safe and ride defensivly... be safe to ride another day..
