If wan go touring 1000 better, sing road 600,IMHO

I agree. 1000 for tour less tiring. As for SG road 600 is much much more than enough.

I think for newbies 125cc for track is already very fast. Ppl like me no skill one i think 125 is very good already. for track. 600cc i cannot fully uterlise it also i think.

Depends on what you like and what you want.

600cc

Cheaper to maintain and less fuel consumption.

Lighter and probably a bit easy to handle.

If the bike is meant to be a 600, you should have a good weight/power ratio and hence enough push to have fun when you want.

1000cc

Bike cycle part, so more comfy if you're a bit tall.

Should be smoother is you want to go touring too.

As a side note, I ride on the 600-700 range

This kind of discussions are plain pointless. Even if 100 people say 600cc sports bikes are perfect, ego and "kiasu" mentality will still prevail.

Many people feel that since Class 2 License allows unlimited capacity, why not get the biggest possible? This is nothing more than being kiasu and egoistic. No matter you cannot control the 1000cc beast at 1/4 throttle on the track. Street cred is priority one.

You really need to try it for yourself to determine what works for you.

For some strange reason, my bikes seem to get smaller over the years.

ya...600cc is the choice for SG road, but i feel 400cc is best for SG road (off topic).

for touring 1000cc abv is ideal choice though 600cc is still compatible. as u can see alot of 600cc rider make it to Hatyai without complain.

own experience on F4i 600 to KL I feels the same as riding my CBR929.

anyway i riding st13 now, coz i go for optimum comfy...lol.....

Comfort might be the biggest difference indeed :)

As for the kiatsu spirit... Well, it's the same everywhere... It's not Singapore's specificity... It's just called differently somewhere else :)

Among bikes manufacturer, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki? which bike emits the most heat feel from engine due to design of the bike?

heat emitted from engine depends on air/fuel mix.

lean air/fuel mix engine will run hot.

all stock bike with factory fuel map r lean to meet euro3~4 exhaust emission std, tat's why it is running hot.

use PC3/5 to set fuel map richer (use their fuel map for stock pipe), engine will run cooler.

it will not be as hot as stock, bike runs better n cooler.

engine working principal design have not change for more than 100 yrs old.

physic principle is still the same, technologies have improve vastly, making the engine more efficient.

here r more pointers that most riders do not know by saving a few pennies of fuel can cause more damage to engine.

1) lean air/fuel mix causes the engine to run hot, the leaner the hotter engine will run.

2) hot engine will cook engine oil (eo).

3) cooked eo will lost it's properties n cause more premature wears.

4) cooked eo breakdown faster thus change eo more frequently.

5) overheat engine will fuse spark plug(s).

6) overheat engine will cause parts to fail prematurely.

7) overheat engine will cause gaskets, plastics n rubber seals to be brittle n break-off thus fail to function causing leakages n fail electric.

8) overheat engine will also cause engine to seize or temporary fail to operation until it is cool down to restart again.

many many more......

so to say COOLANT is a important part of our bike which not many people maintain sometimes.

Having ridden both, I find that 1000cc is actually better for urban traffic. Why? Because most modern 600cc engines make very little torque in the lower rev range, which is where you would be when you leave the traffic light. Even "retuned" engines such as the one in my FZ6S2 don't not feel any faster than a 400cc in start-stop traffic. I have not ridden a pure 600cc supersport but I can imagine they'll be even more peaky than my Fazer.

1000cc bikes, on the other hand, make monster torque right from the start. Nothing can beat a literbike going from traffic light to traffic light. The extra power also comes in handy when you have a pillion or carry stuff in top / side boxes. To top it off, you can be super lazy and stick to the top gear on the expressway. A slight twist will send you shooting ahead.

Regret not getting FZ1 instead. The saving grace is the fuel consumption, though. 600cc is definitely more frugal if you don't send the engine to redline everyday.

for tour . a 1000cc bike

can maintain 200km/h easily

600cc . well .. u have to leave 5 - 10 mins earlier.. unless u also wanna maintain at 200 too. which u can hear yr rngine roaring out loud ..

compared to a 1000cc, meowing.

for normal sing road, i find 1000 or even 600 overkill
