We were so pissed and we took the incident as an order from above that, we should always depend on ourselves. Therefore we decided to hit the road next day immediately. Left the station at 1 and found another guesthouse to settle for the night, we set alarm clock onn 7am so that we will have enough time to find an internet cafe and Google our way to the border town Aran Yapra Thet.

With the Googled route in hand, we left Hua Hin in extreme dismay. The distance to cover was around 520 km. Our wired intercomm worked great to keep us awake. And my girl is able to talk to me to discuss the route without stopping. Actually we were still quite worried about the situation, scared any time the red shirt will pop up somewhere on the road haha.

Rode pass the 3 headed elephant

Highway system aound Bangkok is seriously complicated with heavy traffic and mot huge trucks. I made a bad mistake not to top up 2t in the morning. Had to stop at the road side to do it while those monster zoomed pass us.

When we reach one of the highway entry, we were stopped by some police officers. Turned out that Google did not state that Outer Bangkok Ring was out of bound for bikes.:cheeky: However, one senior officer was kind enough to let us pass after knowing that we had traveled all the way up from Singapore.

"Ah, go go go. Be careful! Be careful! Don't ride too fast." What a blessed trip!

Indeed we were lucky. Though we missed an exit later, we were able to find the correct route again, thanks to many kind petrol station attendants and 7-11 counter personels. (ASK YOU BUY MAP BUY GPS LA SO CHEAPO RELY ON GOOGLE MAP) Yea, later we lost quite a lot of time (did 4 u-turns) trying to find somebody who knows the correct direction (DAMN THAILAND TRAFFIC SIGNs).

Due to direction problems, we watched the sunset at a petrol station 100km away from Aran. It was the second night riding for us. This time is worse han the first day. Though it was not raining, it was pitch dark. It was a staight feeling seeing your surrounding slowly disappear into dakness. With flashing helmet light and hazard lights on, we were quite confident that we were visible by others, mostly trucks again. It was not the trucks that post danger to us. Some MFers zoomed pass us with no headlight, nor signal. I wonder how they survive until now.

2 hours later, we finally reach the town. Had our favourite night market walk around. We were ready to go into another country, another high note, Angkor Wat!

Try to go into Cambodia from Aran was not easy. The town has the most confusing sign board I ever seen. Anyway we finally reach the border and get our Cambodia visa done. And finally we got to pay for our mistake.

The border officers were so pissed at us that we did not make custom declaration for our bike, and asked us to u-turn to where we came. But after he learnt that our entry point was Sadao, he just let easy on us and decided to help us fill in the forms. Oh well, guess he was not exactly happy, so the process took 2 hours to complete.

Wait....wait...wait

And finally Cambodia!!! Picture time!

It was extremely easy to go into Cambodia. Chop passport and go. There are nothing but casinos at the border, catered for Thais and Chinese. But once you enter the gate of the border, it is a totally different scene. Everything behind their shops along National Highway, is just pure countryside. No time to be wasted at the border, we got to reach the hotel soon and buy the tickets for Angkor Wat!!

Tips: If you ever want to stop along the way and have lunch, remember to change some local currency at the border. All shops and town along the way before major does not accept anything other than their riels. We had to munch on bread steamed in our saddle bag.

i definitely would want to go again! Actually I did not have enough time and budget inside thailand due to some stupid issues back in sg. Spent 2 weeks in Cambodia and Laos and had to rush back in 2 days from chiangmai, it sucked. Anyway thank for following my thread i will update more on cambodia and laos soon.

Maps route:

- Google map, seriously. Follow the road sign and pay attention to the mileage. My gf would be reading the routes to me since we got an intercomm. there are plenty of signs and direction in Malasysia and thai. for cambodia and laos, well, they only got one highway. if not sure, find a petrol station and ask. No map, no GPS for us.

the only boat trip we had was from Luang Prabang, Laos, to Chiang Khong, Thailand. Not recommended for big bikes. You could go by land via Luang Namtha. You could have a peek at Chinese border if u got enough time. Sadly we crashed, and hhave to take boat.

Hope it helps.

We can't avoid breakdown, but we can prevent it. Just some tips from my own experience.

- Do a full service before you hit the road.

- Do not overwork your bike.

- Keep to your and your bike's comfortable speed.

- Always start your trip early to prevent rushing or any delay caused by any undesired happenings

- have some knowledge of your bike, so that you can do some basic maintenance and repair yourself

- kindly refer to Wave 125cc to Laos for kup touring info

- I think your kup cai is definitely younger than my 11 y.o. sp, so...

- There are more than enough bike shop along the way. there was even bikeshop up in the moountain in Laos.

- All the local ride kup, or fino or ksr. They could be a big help. According to Lonely Planet, some guys would just pop up from nowhere and help u fix your bike. (Pls refer to Lonely Planet: Laos)
