That's the signature mark of a thumper.

There are ways to reduce the vibrations but there is absolutely no way to make it ride like a S4 on the road.

:)

lol! after riding my wr 400 for a few months, I rode on my friend's drz. and it doesn't feel that raw when comparing the vibrations and torquey feel. lol.. to be honest, i really think a drz has one of the least vibration of all 2a scrambler. the plus points of a drz is that it feels great and damn stable when cornering but of cos, at the price of its weight. it feels waaaay heavier than my wr400.

im about to mention wr400. :cheeky:

agree. but most people won't want a wr400. if someone wants power, they'll buy a ktm 400 whose look is the best btw! if someone wants reliability, lots of aftermarket blings2, good resale value, drz is the answer like how super 4 is for road bikes. but for someone who want some offroad fun and yet a durable bike but cheap, they will go for an xr400.

a wr 400 is actually in between ktm 4 and xr 4. its performance is as good as a KTM 4 (thanks to weight/power ratio) minus the hot looks, it's as old as an xr4 but a damn reliable bike but at a bit higher price than an xr4. the only downside is the kickstart technique for a wr4 but i have no problem kickstarting it in 1 kick. a drz at 9-11k, a ktm 4 at 6-14k(depending on age), an xr4 at 3.5-5k,a wr4 at 4.5-8k. it's best to pick the right bike that suits your style at the price that suits your budget.

anyway, here's my info for my wr4 if anyone is thinking of getting one.

FC:17-19km/l

tank:7l (yz450 tank, orginal is 10l)

full tank:100km or so till reserve

top speed: clear meter(140km/hr) and can still accelerate after that.

pick up: 0-100km/hr -> less than 4s(not even full throttle cos i scared wheelie, cos i accidentally do that when on track :cheeky:)

cruising speed:100km/hr-120km/hr (less than half throttle)

based on an FCR3 carb, YZ450 pipe, motard setup on 15/45 sprockets. truly a monster and i'm loving it.

I would love to get a wr4 dude, but those are kinda' hard to come by. My budget for a motard is about 6k... about looks, frankly i dun gif a sh*t! Coz if done up, even a xr4 will look good.

i bought mine for around 6k. and check out slackriders forum. i think there's 4 wr4 for sale. there's 2 '00 model selling at 5k and 5.5k(nego). even though it's on offroad setup with ending COE, to me, it's worth it. just get 2nd hand motard setup at around 1k. there's the 2 '98 model, the offroad setup going for 5.3k and the one with both setups going at 6.5k.

Okay, its quite settled. I talked to my special lady about dis, she said i shd go for drz instead. Her reasoning is, if wanna keep as weekend ride, mite as well hav a newer one rite? I think its more becoz she prefer sitting on a better looking bike. Anyway, thats y I don't listen to women, so its quite settled, I am getting the xr4 or if a good one pops up, a wr4. Thanks for all the feedback guys.

Just to chip in, why not sell away your Spark to fund your DRZ? DRZ is not very expensive to run as well. If you are talking about getting a bigger cl2 bike, then ya, it is justifiable to keep your Spark.

Otherwise, sell your Spark and S4, and concentrate on the DRZ. You can even save on the insurance and rd tax as well.

Or maybe you have your own reason. Anyway have fun with your purchase!

By the way, I will choose DRZ over XR4 as well.

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....

good move on keeping the spark. work as mcrider use spark better. Anw i think drz400 is worth the $ over xr4 .
