Hey guys, not really sure whether is this the right section to post my enquires but yeah, i hope you guys can give me a rough description of your FC (km/litre) and your bike model.. i was hoping to do a little bit of some personal research.. thank you :)

seems like many sportsbike have a better fuel consumption than my street-fighter. Guess I have a bad control on my throttling and gear shifting.

It may depend on riding conditions - city area start-stop I'm betting your SF's greater torque makes it more efficient on acceleration.

 

On the highways sportsbike aero does do a good job especially with rider actually hunkering down.

 

ya, you got a point as well... shall monitor my riding habit again. Hopefully I can achieve the 15-17km/liter FC again.

sportsbike n streetfighter have inversely characteristics.

sportsbikes needs to pull beyond 6k rpm for horsepower to rush in.

streetfighter has lots of torque at low rpm.

sportsbikes doesn't have much opportunties to whack pass 6k rpm without breaking the law.

whereas streetfighter has lots of fun riding around at practical rpm.

 

my point is sportsbike riders ride their bikes under power when use on normal road.

only uses their full potential at race tracks.

 

it impractical to compare fc of sportsbikes against streetfighters.

It's like comparing FC between Toyota Prius and BMW M3. Driving conditions have to be factored in for a proper overview, as the Prius obviously beats the M3 in start-stop city driving but on the autobahn the M3's big mighty engine is more fuel efficient at high speed.

 

Therefore, to save fuel, buy an M3 lol.

Expressway cruise @ 95 to 105km/h averages abt 19 to 22km/l according to onboard meter

 

Overall average for me abt 17 to 18km/l

My 2007 R1 12km/liter fully stock except bubble windscreen.

My 2010 X1R 48km/liter fully stock with 48 liters Givi Box.

I ride mostly with the throttle in fully open. ( It gives more HP on the wheel, IMO ) :-D

The TDM900 does roughly 14.5 pr Ltr.

The BMW K1200 does about 15

I used to have a Speed Tripple that did less than 13, with the throttle fully open...

If I want a bike to be fuel efficient, I think I will buy an electric. LOL
