interested in konda too. ealier was at regina to buy a open face helmet. he then ask if im interested in Konda. however quote me $320.. kaoz..

Unfortunately, tat's one of the tactics they use......if u show interest.....they will say they give u special price:D. With Regina/Ah boy.....must play hard to get and bargain bargain bargain......another thing is find out the average price before going down......and don't get the 1st time if price don't seem right. U can always go back later and they will still entertain u...

mm... i just got the konda from regina's think e price dropped a little. u go n check. e guy who assist me is quite nice, the shop so many ppl he patiently listen to my queries and recommended i take the konda bcos of my budget. i wanted agv but price is 300 and is not modular and no extra tinted visor like the konda although it is lighter than konda. anyway, Regina's konda is psb approved. cool helmet. can't really give much comparations to other brands cos tis is my first ff helmet and a helmet tat cost more than $40! big hole in my pocket... but regina's is a good shop. i wanna get mesh jacket too. but forgot to ask them. too excited over the new helmet! :p

Hi,

I have been using the Konda for a while, very good helmet indeed. Road noise is acceptable, and most importantly, the fit and feel is very good. The flip-up action is also better compared to other models of similar price range.

Just note that the shell size is somewhat larger compare to other brands.

The internal cushsion is way better than Nolan though. Based on my experience with the N42E though.

My 2cents.

Cheers.

i just got myself a konda today...

overall feel is quite a solid helmet.. i am pretty impressed of its built quality and finishing..

its visor close down and an additional "lock" that keep your visor in place should you go on high speed..

the sunshade is right in the middle/on top the helmet and is easily accessible even on the move!

i have a shoei x11 and ogk ff4 currently and i think this will be a good replacement for my ff4 esp for local riding..

Congrats on your purchase. Am also going to get myself one of these real soon. What's the price you paid for it?

sure... if you refer up.. there are some other mention of the price tag that people are getting...

but i am happy with my purchase for now rather than spending more time in the shop trying to nego for a better pricing...

today is my first "full" day of riding around with the konda... i certainly like the sun visor part.. it nicely cut out the glare from the road and sun.. yet at the same time.. entering into the carpark.. i can still see where i am going.

previously i wore sunshades under my FF and the moment i enter underground carpark.. its too dark for me to see properly..

i bought a konda not long ago too, at 270 at Regina. My main reason for getting this helmet is for the tinted built in visor. I can say it serves its purpose well. blocking out the blinding sun in the morning and evening.

compared to rjays tourtech which i used for the past 2 years, heres some comments.

1. Konda ventilation is not good! I bought 1 size bigger than my Rjays, thinking it would help, but i still feel suffocated in this helmet compared to Tourtech.

2. The flip-up mechanism is definitely not as smooth and easy to operate compared to Tourtech. Have to push the button a bit harder, and need more effort to push it up to lock it in the "up" position.

3. The flipped-up position seems rather high, resulting in more air being trapped, causing my head to feel like its being pushed backwards. Tourtech has a lower "up" position. Its not easy to flip up the Konda if your visor is opened. The visor will be forced close by a stopper at the top of the helmet. Tourtech can be flipped up even if the visor is opened.

Please see below. Note the opening degree of the flip up. The Visor on the Konda is touching the top of the helmet, sealing it up and resulting in minimum airflow through the top of the head. Rjays on the other hand, has a gap between the visor and the top of the helmet, resulting in airflow through the top and reducing air pressure

4. The visor seems lower quality than Tourtech. I changed my first visor 1 day after buying due to the anti-fog coating having patches of non-anti-fog. The second visor that i'm now on, though it seems normal, fogs up more easily than Tourtech. And i find that it takes more effort to clean the visor. In the past, i used WD40 to clean the Tourtech's visor, and water stain marks get wiped off very easily. For Konda's visor, wiping with WD40 is not that efficient.

5. Noise level is good if the helmet is tight. Recently i just cut my hair, end up it became noisier due to air flowing in. lol.

On the whole, feels that the Rjays tourtech is more comfortable. Nonetheless, as mentioned, the double visor meets my requirement. The Chin Curtain also helps greatly in stopping wind from flowing into my face from below. The design also looks nice, like pilot. lol
