Hi guys,

How do we get HDB to provide more motorcycle lots? I tried writing in, mentioning a few justifications, but was given a template reply (which means, no).

Will writing to their minister, to the ministry, to MP etc, help? Have you guys managed to get them to provide more lots?

The fact remains, Motorbikes are noiser than cars generally (since the engine is exposed). So going up MSCP means we produced a lot of noise, and disturbing peace at night. Also, motorbikes are smaller, less visible, thus may not be noticed by car drivers exiting the lot, which is a hazard.

What's your take?

Ya the only trend I see nowadays is lesser and lesser motorbike lots. Where I used to stay...the carpark was always over-crowded with cars parked illegally...so the solution was to replace bike lots with car lots...sighz...not like those lots were not well utilised by bikes in the first place...always full!

Here in the northern part of Singapore, we practise "Defensive Parking".

If the bikes are not spaced out evenly across the entire 20-bike-lots-in-a-row area, some elderly cager will park on the bike lots leading to a shortage. Some Phantom riders have adopted desperate measures, parking illegally on the grass along the main street.

The area around the HDB shophouses are even worse. The common areas and concrete areas are absolutely ginormous and there are less than 2 dozen bike lots squeezed into the most stupid of corners that only tiny Malaysian cubs can reach. Not to worry, the Town Council fines $100 for each and every bike found parked on the pavements/aprons on a regular basis.

I sense a conspiracy...

Actually U can.

Provide U give them supporting proof.

One X9-500 rider, who stay near my place. Using the same multi story car park.

What he did was simple. Snap pics. touch on the ratio of car versus bike lots. also support the letter with more photos showing that despite in the middle of the nighht or public holidays, there are still alot car empty lots.

Also offer sugguestions of which car lots to be converted to bike lot. It was a success.

MY MSCP is 6 storey. level 4 always only 30% full story 5 and 6 is always afew cars only.

Bike lots is always full until level 5.

Note this will works if you do a proper submission of sugguestion with the necessary supporting photos of the situations. Also provided there are alot of cars empty slot.

If the cars lots is already full. then don't even waste time. cos, I car lot is max = to 4 bike lots. And the parking fees of 4 bike is only 2/3 of a car.

This is a capitalist word.
