actually got answer in the other post liao... u posts so much but dont know how to search?

Did re-sponging of my Nolan 103 last year. Great job by Eugene. Cost then was $45, may be higher these days. He was really busy and i waited about 1 week plus. Worth the wait thot as the new sponge material is better than the original.

reptiletan..

u can change the cushion but bear in mind.. the helmet's inner lining which is the styrofoam layer is probably past its due date n can no longer absorb the impact of a crash.. so its not such a gd idea wearing it on ur head

TS - please throw the old helmet away if you treasure your head. Like what Wayang said, the shell is probably past its due date.

Present: CBR900RRY, Gas Gas EC250, XR250L, XR250RV, XR400 (motard-ed), NX650 Dominator

There are as many as 10 shops around LAB but Eugene Saddlery is my preferred choice.

Price is about $50 - $60

Hmm...I think you should back off a little. Best is not the time to bricker over such trivia stuffs. Be glad that TS decided to do some searching on his own after accepting your suggestion.

After all, it doesn't hurts to ask bit of questions now and then right?

To TS, apologies that I went off topic on this.

Oh to add, the last time I went down to Eugene to do up my seats, he mentioned to me that he does helmet repairs too, in addition to cushioning. Given that you have a old helmet, I might wager that it needed some repairing too?

Hmm, I waited bout 2 hours for my seat to be done but nonetheless, a great job it was and much cheaper than if I were to seek other options (Hint: Queenstown).

:dozed::sian::dot:

so what if the TS found the thread and the thread was like years ago? the price will be different already what. and what if the shop that people suggest already closed down years ago?

TS start a thread to ask so that in the future people will know. sometimes just keep negative comments to yourself and world will be peaceful.

I have a 7 yrs old, 30 bucks helmet which I wear day in day out. I wanna do a re-cushion too, I don't bear to throw it away. But since fellow rider mention about helmet performance might deteriorate over the yrs... wonder if I should just change a new helmet?

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

Yeah, you should. As all things are, wear and tear are part and parcel of our daily life so it will be better for you to change your helmet to a newer one for a peace of mind as you'll never know whether the old helmet could hold it up in the event of the worst case scenerio.

unless the helmet has sentimental values to you, you should probably get a new one already... i wan to recushion mine because i wanna keep it for personal reasons, not to wear/use.. :)
