Newbie Power Friday

 

Venue - Meet at Ang Mo Kio Hub 8.00pm. No need to specify exact location, it's top secret We can use MacDonalds (small talk) or one of the restaurants (bigger talk) for the technical discussion part of the evening schedule. DVDs will be provided for those who don't have them yet.

 

To avoid the crowd I have a "secret parking area" that is not immediately apparent to observation. Empty bike lots as far as the eye can see with supplementary pavement (illegal but no one cares cos its Friday) parking.

 

SMS me to find out exactly where to meet, cos we very stealthy one. (9327 0801). Sms only hor. Cat only meow, cannot talk.

 

After that we will pick up a pretty yellow Kawasaki from the east coast / marine parade area and do the usual petrol-burning rituals

 

Bonus:

 

Will be doing more equipment testing (@tankee1981 where is my sd card ) and of course there will be more pehh pehhing through the night.

Not cruel, safer. Sometimes average travelling speed for a seasoned rider is scary for new license holder. For a long duration newbie tour it is also critical to not let the discussions stray too far from the road and the machines. Idle, offtopic conversations at 1-3am = accident waiting to happen (microsleep/lower attention span)

 

Fast convoy please report in to @adesmond2 sportbike group.... unless you can tahan 60kph

You are recommended to approach the meeting point from the north (relative to AMK Hub) and you'll see me on the pavement before 8pm.

 

Second wave of 3 bikes will join us at 11pm from Planet Motors (carpark). Look for a huge little yellow object there.

We have two special routes to cover and we will try and cater for the more photogenic en route.

 

First stage of the course involves urban convoy ops and testing some new ideas in group coordination. Also distributing some useful stuff to the junior riders.

 

The second is a free and easy exploration sortie where riders may suggest activities and venues.

Oh ya, Pandora, you suggested I put lesser kpa in my rear tire for better grip? How much should i let out? Currently its 200kpa.

200kpa already? I think that is low enough. CBR150 should be using a higher tyre pressure than a Phantom because your tyres are slimmer, and need a higher pressure to support the weight of the bike.

 

200kpa is the recommended pressure for Phantom.

 

if skidding persists see Keith Code training material for tips. Gentle throttle control + countersteering means fast and smooth cornering. Remember your bike is a sports model and ridden hard, it is faster than most of the 2B bikes out there (@nabil15 used to ride the '06 CBR150R).
