hi!! i remember you! We came back with my fren (K6 750), and the lady also.

Yes i do miss it.. i miss the :-

1. lugguage space

2. comfort/posture

3. laser exhaust with the deep bassy note

4. the looks/styling

5. the stability

6. the looks that pedestrain give me too

I keep looking at my past pics, and the multiple touring trips last year. This year = zero

 R6 too neck/back aching for me. Getting old I guess..

Take it up north when your schedule allows. You will release its potential as an "active" touring machine.

Cheer pal.. ride safe!!

You are right… the bike feels way smoother after a blast up North.

Now I think I got carbon build-up or something after riding for a few months on Singapore roads only… feels slightly sluggish and less responsive (although no major complaints.. just a relative thing).

Well, our bikes at way below 6k rpm does not give good combustion., thus allowing carbon build up along from the exhaust ports till the muffler tip. A good blast should clear the system throughout.

Compared to my CBR 1000RR, the VFR sounds really Sluggish and there is a noticably vibration whenever it dips below 3KPM.

Anyone selling bagster tank bra for VFR800 year 2002 onwards? Went to Motorworld, they said no stock.

Left message for xecutioners but he does not reply.

Thinking of letting go my 2003 VFR ABS silver colour at $14600 or down $1000, then $300 X 45. Take your own insurance. Bike loan at Looi's. Bike is third owner but comes with the followings:

1. Tankbra

2. Fairing sliders

3. After market double bubble screen

4. After market hugger

5. Headlight protector

6. Original VFR panniers in matching silver colour.

Bike is nearing 42000 kilometres mileage mark.

Some small scuff marks at side of panniers, otherwise, the rest of the bike is in very good condition. Bike wash done everyweek.

Interested can view night at Tampines and day at Orchard Road near Hilton hotel. Letting go because bike is too light for me cos i have been riding full dressed tourer all the while and prefer something a little heavier. Keen sms or call to 90122688, calvin. Thanks :cheeky:

Seems like VFR owners do not hold onto their bikes for long.

Wondering if they had high expections of the bike before buying but expectations drop after owning the bike.

So many VFRers come and go ...

Anyone owns a VFR for more than 2 years already?

I rode my first VFR (5th geners non-VTec) for 2 years, sold it when I when overseas to work; Came back, and immeditaely bought another 5th gener, and is still riding it for the last 2 years. Highly unlikely I will sell it for the foreseeable future.

A riding mate also on a 5th gener has his for 6 years now.

Another forumer (KISS) has his 5th gener also for ages ...

Looks like the Vteckers are selling out for more excitement.

My wife was so use to the luxo-tourers that she is complaining about the pillion position. Guess i have spoilt her for the longest time. Honestly would not mind keeping the VFR but i know my lady well, she would never let me have two big bikes. Sigh!

hi ronald814, was the difference in both bikes significant? in terms of torque n horsepower n displacement... was VFR responsive compared to CBR? interested in VFR for quite some time but it was quite exp.. im riding an x11

Huge difference, but maybe it is due to the run in period, the exhaust sound is darn mute but is a sweet sound.

The sitting position is great, but atlas after a sportsbike, any sitting position is good.

I hope to keep my VFR for a long time. Always wanted one when I pass my class 2, just that the CBR 1000 was a great deal at that time so I took it. But now really missing my CBR 1000 RR. I have high expectation of VFR b4 I bought it. Now I kind of regretting a bit only but will see how in the future.

This VFR forum is not really active maybe because Hamster has left the VFR family,

Hi Hamster,

I now remember seeing U once after U change to R6, U lost your Ringgit while riding with the pouch opened. Hope this does not happen again. I the fat boy with the white blue red CBR 1000. :thumb: on your R6. I friend with Mark's army buddy when we saw the wheelie show together at GP.

ME! My VFR is also with me for 2yrs liao...

I've rode my bro's CBR 954... In terms of pick up, VFR can't fight for sure. However, I also can't explain why I like the VFR so much. I guess comfort wise, it's better.

I also hope I can hold on to this bike for as long as I can...

Yes i do agree... the VFR and a sportsbike.. huge difference in terms of excitement, comfort and versatility. Each bike has its own pros n con in each category.

I am like you too.. i do miss my VFR very much and do wish have have both the R6 and the VFR at the same time. Well $$ doesn't allow. But I am very glad I had utilized what the VFR was meant to be in my 2 years of ownership... and I never regreted owning one. I was was "drifted" to the "dark side" by my peers in sports bike riding though

Oh i remember.. great to know that you are with a VFR now :cheer: Its another ball game altogether compared with a pure sports bike. And yah, now i keep my RM in my wallet, separated with the SGD..

GP wheelies are kinda toned down recently.. tink i am getting old though... and also due to more n more "undercovers" under the bridge...

Do drop in questions in the VFR forum. I believe the seasoned VFR riders who still owns the great machine, will be able to advice much more than what I have experienced. No need to scared.. they very frenly one...

Ya, since I cannot catch up with my peers with CBR1000RR, so I am going for comfort instead but this is for daily commute also so I chose VFR.

I hope to maintain 2 bikes when the next generation of CBR1000RR comes out. My VFR is definately for the long term. Sportsbike is really too much fun in terms of instant throttle action and fast corner speed and not to mention the frequent admiration of fellow riders on your ride (of course not on me lah) . Enjoy your R6. All the best. :thumb:

Me, me, me! Loves my bike very much. It's a great bike to use for touring especially if you are a sports rider. Been using this 5th generation VFR for nearly 4 years and really have no intention of selling.

I just come back from Sepang trackday yesterday and my stock-standard bike couldn't catch up with some riders (fast riders with fast bikes) especially on the straights. But the VFR's holds well during and into the corners.

At Pasir Gudang, not much of a problem regarding the power.

Conclusion: I'm considering an R6 for Sepang,................ but I 'll still keep my VFR.

Looks tempting to me too. But I am keeping my bike stock after so many experiences...
