Buy the hugger or buy the bike?

If you're interested in the bike, Robin (aka Robinhood) has a red VFR + panniers for sale. FX plate.

He lives in the CCK area... and his post is somewhere in the most recent previous pages.... and the Garage Sales.

I just knew last ngiht that a v iffer mate is letting go of the bike too. silver in color, FS1XX plate, includes panniers. You might wanna give him a ring at 90471949. Just mention stanley who rides a VFR....

Great to have another rider to enjoy the machine...

 Total is 10 brake hoses, that's y i still considering, will VECTOR ONE c*** up on the job.... :giddy: Its not easy...10 hoses.... if install short cut or wrongly very dangerous...or maybe i should just leave the brakes alone....

well if they are made for the bike, it will be re-cut to a correct length. Intalling is not that difficult, you can do it yourself. It might just take a bit of a longer time due to the greater number of hoses.

The more tricky part is the bleeding of the hoses. Remember, this time your master cylinder is empty also.

If you are able to bleed nicely, the brake feel will be hard. Braided hoses bacisally givbe a much better feel and does not expand like rubber under intense heat.. (I am tokking about INTENSE heat).

For me maybe i wunt change till the hoses are really sibei lao pok condition laios...now aiming the quartet pipes.. heheh bonus is coming!

Getting a ZG windshield soon.

But which one to get: DB or sport touring?

DB looks better but I am afraid it will not be high enough to deflect the turbulences.

Also read that using DB, you need to adjust yourself for a sweet spot for the optimal wind protection whereas for sport touring no problem at all.

What you guys sugguest? BTW I'm 179cm tall.

well If you want to clear the wind above your head, bascially the windshield have to be very high. All after market screens (which i tried to find) will not be able to do thaT. (but the MRA vario-touring is still a qestion) I am 1.74m in height, and the best is wind cuts in at eye-nose level. Thats based on Givi touring screen. It significantly reduces wind fatigue and noise as the total area exposure is reduced.

How to find out if the wind starts hitting which part of your body. Put on the screen, ride at above 100kmh (200kmh also can) hold a cardboard of maybe 20x10cm vertically by the edge. Start moving it upwards from your body to ur chin, helmet, helmet visor and so on. The point when it starts to deflect, thats where your shield stops covering you effectively. If the sheild clears the wind right above your head, there will be an obvious sign. You will hear your engine noise... nice and pure, as head you duck down when travelling at 200kmh

Hope these helps...

Oh yah by the way, all testings were done sitting upright, touring position.

using Givi touring screen (D208), costs $140. Result is wind blast starts right from my eye/nose level. still comfy at speeds up to 200kmh. Great improvement from OEM (wind blast starts from just below shoulder level). Oh yah good rain protection too

This 1 i very agree with him, during heavy rain if u no rain coat just coach down & increase ur speed & u will be protected from the rain :cheeky:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i am ordering NGK IMR9B-9H plugs online as No one except Boon Siew has it here. (we all know their price)

here's hgow you save if we get more. Each plugs are $11.71

Plug Qty Shipping

4 $22.50

8 $22.50

12 $26.00

16 $26.00

20 $26.00

24 $26.00

Shipping method : USPS Airmail Parcel Post $22.50 (Signature required for delivery, allow 2-8 weeks depending on country)

Oh by the way, they are all in USD. I am ordering probably 12 myself. See if anyone wants to share. Kindly get back to me coz I have another 6000km to plug change.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kindly inform me how many are you interested in? So far the confirmed orders are

1. HamsterZ ---- 9~12

2. Cheeko ---- 4

3. None ---- 4

4.Jahre ---- 4

latest price. I can get the plugs for SGD25.50 each in Singapore. They are slightly more expensive then those i posted (to be ordered from the net). These plugs are Honda OEM, in honda packaging. I have visually check the plugs and the exact ones the VteC is using.

So can I have a show of hands if you guys are interested in the plug locally(slightly ex) or still prefer the import urself type (got risk in losing.. coz I am pumping in almost 1K worth of plugs)

I will not be in town till weekend..though...so will reply once i get back!

Can those who ordered kindly PM me their numbers? ICoz I used to mass order stuff and too many ppl did not collect their items...

Thank you

Not sure if any of you guys have the VFR800 vtec service manual, but I just manage to download mine after 5 hours!

Some interesting points to note:

spark plugs: 25k inspect clean replace if necessary, 51.2k change.

valve clearance: 256k to inspect and clean

engine oil: 10k,128k,256k change

air filter: 192k interval change

If go by their recommendations, I will save a lot on maintenance but not sure if bike can be still ridden by then.

PS: the pdf file is 209mb and 639 pages.
