Guys what temperature are your bikes operating at on the highway and in traffic? My friend's bike get up to 108 in traffic, which seems kinda high, is this normal?

Hi guy, i would like to know more abt VFR this bike.

Can any of u ans my Q???

1st~ wat the petrol consumption like???

2nd~ wat the top speed??

3rd~ how the maintenance like???

4nd~ wat the price for a new bike?

Is there any website abt it???

cos i cant find any...

Thk...to those reply me!!!

1st~ wat the petrol consumption like???

Expressway riding, 90~110kmh, gives me about 18km/l

N-S highway riding, 120kmh, gives me about 20~21km/l

N-S highway riding, 200kmh, gives me about 11~12km/l

These info is clocked with running a tank of about 21litres contant riding

In grneral S expressway riding, 310km main tank, 100km reserve tank. (By the way, OEM spec of reserve is not accurate)

2nd~ wat the top speed??

manufacterer is 150mph which is 240kmh

I have clocked 255kmh w/o panniers on my meter. Still able to go up

With panniers I have clocked 240~250kmh, still able to go up but erm kinda tail happy

3rd~ how the maintenance like???

Well this is up to individual. Hona manual says 12,000km oil change. 24km plug change. From my constant inspection... this is my

1. 6000~8000km oil & filter change (Fuchs 15W~50) = ($14x3)+$12

2. 6000~6500km oil & filter change (Fuchs 10W~40) = ($14x3)+$12

3. 1 year change coolant (Maxima and 3 bottles of distill water) = $12+($1x3)

4. 11,000 brake pad change (Honda OEM, sintered) = $65x3

My inspection is only 3/4 is used.

5. 12,000km change air filter (Honda OEM) = $72

From my inspection at 12,000km only dust and no dirt. No difference in performance when changed. Can stretch till 24,000km

6. 24,000 plug change (NGK-IMR9B-9H) = $30x04

But after checking the gap, it is only about 30% used. Spec is 0.85~0.95mm. My observation at 24,000km is still bewtween 0.85~0.90 which is on the tight side.

By the way, the original recommended plugs ARE NOT AVAILABLE ANYWHERE (even for denso VNH27Z)except BOON SIEW. I bought 24 pieces from them somewhere but there are yet ppl to collect.....

6. tire information

18,000km (ME-Z4) comes stock with bike. Shitty tires. Hard, no feedback

14,000km (BT-014) = $320 per pair, 120fr-180rear

Going to dry diablo corsa

All the above maintenence is based 1 year 5 days age of bike. 4 tracks sessions, and 2 1500km long trips.

4nd~ wat the price for a new bike?

Model VFR800A3 (ABS version)

Vehicle price $19,918.10

GST $ 995.90

ARF $ 2,164.00

COE $ 210.00

Reg fee $ 140.00

Road tax $ 128.00 1/2 year)

Total $23,800.00 (OTR)

Panniers $ 1,800.00 (excluding GST from MAH)

Prices are based on 2003 model, ABS version, 22 April 2004.

Is there any website abt it???

There are tonnes, but all my PC.. which crashed 1 week ago. Will pass to you oncemy PC is up

Singapore

night time 75~85deg

day time 85~95deg

The above mentioned is only based on constant highway cruisign. Anything other then that is a very difficult judgement as here are too many variables

I dun think there's anything wrong... sometimes i also get this kind of temp... esp in start-stop traffic... think its cos of the fan turning on only at that temp...

I tried changing out the old coolant n added water wetter... now usually hit 106 only then somehow the fan turn on liao... makes no sense to me why it happen but u can ask yr fren to try and change the coolant lor...

Type 1: Slider installed directly to engine mount - need to drill hole in fairing and through water bottle. See pic. (Vtec (6th gen and 5th gen same installation method)

Type 2: No drilling of bottle but lots of bracketry by HPS on a 5th gen. http://www.vfrworld.com/reviews/hps.html

apparently... the slider kit w/o drilling is only for the 800Fi version. Not the VTEC. The kit cost almost $200++. Been looking for the VTEC version but to no avail....

Try motovation sliders with installation at KT. About $100++

Well if you are intending to get a bracket mounted slider, then might as well don't get it. It will not take the impact when the time comes.

Nice pics, HamsterZ! Make me gian until jialat jialat.

I read that you only "popped" your front wheel in 1st gear. But I read from Fast Bikes mag (Aug 2004 I think) that the VFR is capable of lifting the front wheel in second gear at 8000rpm? When iBike.hk reviewed the VFR the reviewer claimed to lift the front at 6000rpm first gear.

I know reviews are not to be trusted 100%, but maybe those are some figures to spur you on to more wheelies... :D Just kidding...
