That one is hardcore sia. Got hard bags still corner until like that.

I wonder if VFR got racing rearsets... But that would be dumb because this bike is not meant to be raced anyway. Maybe adjustable rearsets? :D

Hope you guys don't mind me asking so many questions. I just can't stop daydreaming about my dream bike (no pun intended). :help: That's why I ask ask ask loh. Super curious.

well, I wouldn't mind trying that stint... provided I can lah.. which I think i got not enough skill. and also.. who would wanna risk having beautiful lines on the nice ncie side panniers?

Well racing rear sets.. probably not in SG. Europe might have them. Then agin, you can always cusom make. Then again, this is an all rounder... no point etting in my opinion. Its one machine that ives you fun at the track, but not super adrenaline rush!

Wll, ask as much as you want man! Coz I also used to dream like an idiot back in 2001 when it was first launched.

Like what Honda's notion is... "Power of Dream" Its all about attain "power" (need not be just BHP) when you get your "dream"

heheeh you know why its called Power of dream? Guess..........

BTW... have I met you before? Your nick sems awfully familar...

Guys, how do I check whether the VFR comes with ABS or not?

What are the possible unique points to check for a 2nd hand VFR?

Also possible illegal modifications if any.

thanks

Simple check

ABS version has gold painted calipers whereeas non ABS is black

Deeper check

1. Look out for the front disc(right) and rear disc. and a black sensor on the caliper mounting bracket. This serration is for the sensor to detect wheel lock, which in turn activates the ABS pump.

2. Open up the the rear seat. The front right has the ABS pump bleeding nipple

Never bght a second hand VFR.. so only can give you general comments.

Just look out for the usual stuff. Alignment and cowling mountings. These might show signs of bad accident. Engine note can be listened to detedt wear and tear/valve clearance time. Other than that, can't think of any thing much.

As for illegal modification, there is nothing that I can think of except headlights and mufflers. Other than that, the mods cannot be seen.

Replacing the O2 sensors might not might pass the emmissions though... no idea abt this one

I hope these helps...

Halo fello vfr owner!

Jus wondering if its possible to change the handlebar to a wider one and give it more street-bike look?

Eg in the lights of Triumph Speed triple kinda look...will it be possible?

Actually I was about to ask about the opposite. Are the high bars a hinderance on track?

Well i think that depends the extent of how you value track session. If you're hardcore, change it back to the normal ones before heading to track.

The original bars n position is fine with my at PG and Sepang though. The 1st thing about a VFR is that its not a super good track bike. The low pegs really do limit you to banking angle. But it still gave great day at track!!!

Hey if you do change the bars, I wanna see leh!

Hi guys,

Thanks for the info. I ever saw a fazer1 with a pro-taper...so was wondering if a pro-taper can be fitted on a vfr...:cheeky: :cheeky:

A few of the things i like abt vfr is it comes with centre stand, matching side panniers and under-seat exhaust if i called it correctly...

Any of the riders here fitted their vfr with the original side boxes? So far i saw 2 OTR, 1 silver and the other black...so cool!! :cheer:

the center stand is really very convenient and doesn't affect banking in track so far. (maybe i not low enough hehehe)

the underseat exhaust is sweet. But it is kinda restricted. Take a look underneath and you will understand why.

The boxes are made for this bike by givi.. so kinda uniq. But its expensive.. abt $1.8k. You can get a pair of H&B with some change man!

dwn 4k means you have to borrow $19,800

lets say u wanna pay withing 5 years so, you borrow $19800/5 per year, which is 3960. So with a 5% interest, you actually have to pay 1.05 x $3960 = $4158/yr.

Work out the sums and you need to fork out $4158/12 = $346.5/mth

But dun forget you also need to pay abt $1400(insurance) + $260(road tax) = $1660, which gives and additional $139/mth

not to mention engine oil, wear nad tear of tires and so on..that gives an approx of

$346.5 + $139 + ?? = $485.5++?? /mth

hope this helps

wao K3.. confim damn power. IF you suddenly ride a VFR you will find it power no enough! hehehe

Well... the word that sums it all for VFRs

"THE MOST VERSATILE BIKE ON THE PLANET" from magazines says it all. Been the sports tourer of the year again though.

Hope it continues....

Hi HamsterZ,

Is that how installment is calculated?

I always thought that the installment scheme work out like this:

Downpayment 4k means you have to borrow $19,800

lets say u wanna pay withing 5 years so with 5% interest/year for new bike.

$19,800 * 0.05 = $990 interest per year

So total cost will be $19,800 + ($990 * 5 years) = $24,750

Work out the sums and you need to fork out $24,750/60mths = $412.5/mth

Anyway I check again when I get back home.

For Phant@m-str|pe, your 4k downpayment is enough to cover the interest for the 5 years.

Hi, Edward from the ST forum

Do any of you read Japanese?

Saw this in the YahooCBR 1000 group

Looks like a sports tourer but a bit small for the ST13

Could it be the new VFR V5!

Some features -

high windscreen (motorised?) like the STX

high handlebars for tourer duty

ST type rear view mirrors with integrated turn signals

large seat (tourer style for passenger and rider)

Single underseat exhaust to allow panniers close to the centreline

CBR style fender stickers - to disguise the tourer design

but the best is the Rossi (now should be Biaggi as Rossi went to Yamaha) style V5 engine.

Give it HyperVtec and 1000 cc - will make 200 hp - fly man...
