Hi guys,

I just got my 2B license and want to buy a bike or scooter.

I will carry my lovely girlfriend often on the express ways. So safety and her comfortable is my top 2 priority.

What bike or scooter do you recommend? I am thinking about getting a Gilera ST200, but it looks small for 2.

A sport bike seems have too little space for passenger.

And I am afraid I can't handle big cruisers well.

Please give me a recommendation, thanks brothers!

Thanks to ALL for your comments and suggestions!

I decide to go to bike shop to look for 2nd Hand Maxi-scooters,

Beside X8, X9, and SYM GTS200, Are there other models under 200cc?

If you wana sell your Maxi-scooter, Let me know!

Cheers!

ST200 is a good choice. I rode with a pillion before...quite comfortable one..and can put helmet in underseat compartment. Power wise very good also =)

best bike for pillion.. maxi-scooter. wide, thick comfy seat, and plenty of storage space (which girls like alot). n also, auto bikes, generally cos of the smoothness..

carry gf around? if comfort for her is your top priority, get something with a big box/back rest/storage space and a extremely large backseat. Maxi scooters comes to mind and frankly, they are the most obvious choice in terms of comfort. Safety wise, i think 99% is your riding style rather than bike, though i do think smaller wheels on scooters are not really very safe, but maxis generally are sufficient in the wheel size department.

For non scooters (ie, normal bikes) in class 2B, big doesnt mean better. A pillion requires additional ooomph from the engine to get you both where you need to go.

For that matter, Y125Z is actually very good. It's so light in weight, with an excellent suspension setup that you can corner with your pillion at 120kph and reach a top speed of 160kph.. also with pillion!

Compare that to Phantom which is already bogged down by it's big cruiser chassis and once put pillion on - oh dear, where's my torque?

Thank to brothers for your quick reply. Is there a Maxi-scooter for 2B? I think they are all more than 200cc...

piaggio x8, x9, sym gts200 are maxi scooters.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

aprilia atlantic too.

if this is the first time your gf is pillion, and u wanna convince her that riding is fine.. start with maxi.. get a 2nd hand one too... then once u get 2a, u will have more choices like silverwing, forza, mp3, majesty, burgman etc, which have very decent speed and power + comfort.

comfort...get a maxi scooter. if u prefer u're gf to "lean forward" while riding get a sport bike...

actually its true maxi 2bs quite underpowered for 2 up riding. heavy big body plus 2 giant areas for extra barang plus riding 2 up. so as zest mentioned, get 2nd hand, if u/your gf likes it, 2a can get a 400cc scooter which is an overall better packaged maxi.

When I first met my girlfriend (wife now) 11 yrs ago, she liked the nice wide pillon seat on my GSXR750WR. Then I wanted to upgrade to an R1. She freaked out. Finally settled on a CBR929, which has a less horrendous pillion pad.

Through the years, she never stopped looking longingly at the nice wide cushions of ST1100s and BMWs. Hahaha

seriously if you really think for your gf, don't pillion her, take BMW with her... you can nv handle the consequences if any mishap will to happen. If you wan to ride, ride alone. Somemore you just pass, still noob on road, tio bor?
