Happy Holidays everyone.

Just wondering what holiday present you're going to get your ride?

I started off early by getting some custom chrome grips,

chrome footpegs and a mini chrome rack. Im also ordering

handlebar clamps from the USA.

Cheers.

Wow. Seems you're getting ready for a whole new riding season in 2007. :thumb:

Our club just finished our traditional year-ender ride by going to the north capital

of the country, Baguio City. Its a 500 kms roundtrip ride to the top of the mountains.

All that's left is our annual Christmas Party which will be held tomorrow.

Happy Holidays everyone. :cheer:

Hi, what I did is sending my bikie for a lacquer recoat since its a 5yr old babe. Didnt want to respray the paint since I always believe that factory default is the best and there is nothing wrong with the original paint work.

Brought it to the bike shop and made the request. And all told me that they had never done this before, "why dont you just respray or wax"? I simply reply that "hey, nothing wrong with my paint work, I just need some minor touchup here, here and here, the lacquer can be grossier, please give me a quote". In the end he made some calls and settle for a price.

Going to collect my babe tomorrow. Lets hope I can use my tank as mirror to squeeze some pimples tomorrow.

No one's buying anything for their bike this Holiday Season?

Even then, it's not going to arrive by Christmas, if I order now

Well at least you got the spirit. :cheeky:

Cheers.

Ha ha…You don’t have to spend to experience the spirit of Christmas as in all of us would honour the season in our heart and try to keep it all year round.

By the way, anyone going to grow a beard this season? A Santa Claus on a bike would be a lovely sight! :D

Wow bro,

please do post a pic of your baby BEFORE & AFTER lacquered.

Care to share with us your experience.

BTW wat bike u riding?

Hi sgstarrider, dont think I can capture the after effect since its only to remove and re apply the lacquer. Not too sure if you have seen me posted my 小绵羊pictures before. Attached photos (before Lacquer) for your viewing. Bike still at the shop, some delay due to bad weather. Thank you

for me, gotta get the 2 fork serviced since the right is already leaking. Quoted around $45 per fork. So it's best to do both.

Then also to rectify the fuel pump since it's not supplying petrol properly to the carbs.

I already had my rectifier, alternator, coil, battery and front tyre bearings changed @ Rosli.

All in all, I'll be spending around $700 for it. And new front tyre too!

Hi sgstarrider, I spent S$180 for the lacquer and S$20 for changing the coolant.

I went to the bike shop yesterday after informed that it's ready for collection. However, when I reach the place, I found out that my bike it parked right outside the shop under the rain and sun, covered with dust. I was like, ok, the place is packed, no place to park inside, "understandable" to park outside.

They manage to did the touch up on some rust on the tank and front mud guard pretty well and I am quite happy with it.

However, when I see closely on the finishing on the tank, gush there are more pot holes than before. There is also some little humps on the tank which I think might be dust particles on the tank not clean off before the Lacquering. Then Joyee told me that I should do a "patch-up" (which I dont know what is it) in order to get a smooth surface. I was think "I am willing to pay S$180 just to recoat, wont it be nice to propose a patch-up if you think it is necessary and make more margin from me?".

5 days of public transport + S$180, you decide if its worth.

I hope readers will take my case as a solo incident and hopefully it only happens to me. Some of their job are pretty well done especially the orange tank that attracted me to engage their service.

If you would like to visit them to do your bike, please contact

Don't mind me saying this but, if it is just for a lacquer job, I believe you could get a better pricing from the below shop.

Replica Spray Painting

Mr. Lim

Blk 4, No 118 Kallang Ave Industrial Centre Singapore 339438 Tel: 62936812

Beside, you have to sand down the previous lacquer layer before applying new layers of lacquering. I feel that since they are the professionals in this field, they should know better than to accept your request for touching up knowing the final work would not turns out well. And I have to agree with you that the ‘pot holes’ and ‘little humps’ mentioned is a bad job done up.

I agree with Nights. They should have known better if they're pros.

Now they want you to add payment for a "patch-up" job?

Hmmmm, i smell something fishy here. :nono:

Hi One Headlight, just correct myself if I am being mis understood, they didnt not ask for additional payment. She just mentioned about patch up when i went for collection, saying that i SHOULD ask for a patch job as well. The feeling then was like bang bang bang my head on the wall.

Well now everything is done, afterall its just a touch up job. If I cant live with it, there is always an alternative from "nights' " Mr Lim! Thanks for the suggestion!

I will try to post some pictures of the after effect of a bad touch up so that you can see what a bad "plastic surgery" can do to your "babe". Will be kinda hard as mention earlier because it will be pretty difficult to capture the pot holes but I will try.

Hey its christmas and weather is cool, not going to let this affect me more than 15 mins man, my 绵羊is still as sexy even with the pot holes.

Like yea, I dunno how to enjoy my ride now. Paying instalment for the last 1 mth but never get to ride a happy moment with my bike. It seems like the bike is into more problem than just the fuel pump which my mech had already modified. He said it might have something to do with the YEIS or carb..

Another $300+ going out...

It's a killer..

With an unlimited licence in hand, I might just grab a HUGE bike...

Hi, finally I got the chance to wash my bike. Took some of the problems on my cam, hope it turn out well. First on the dents, cant take every thing but only on the more obvious one. Beside those are lots of tiny tiny little pot holes and humps.
