Hi stwb1981, mine looks e same as e stocks only sounds terrible. hehe.

N I'm having problems shifting gears up, most of e time it clangs hard. Is it normal for sportsters?

But sumtime wen I get a good rev, gear change is pretty smooth tho..

Any same experience here?

Ha!!!

bingo ....

when the gear oil was last change & using wat brand...

so far I used SE syn 3 & the old XL/XR transmission oil...

the SE syn 3 is a better choice for transmission oil but not a gd EO for my old ride....

current using the old XL/XR transmission oil (which HD agent won't be bring in or stop production), have some situations like yrs but nt very often...

Well rec to change the transmission oil every 3 oil change or when storing or nt riding for long

Nxt target will be AGIP transmission oil....

I used AGIP TEC for my EO & is very pleased with the pricing & quality....

Cheers!!!

Just a question guys.. I was thinking of getting a set of Python mufflers for my bike. I know modding the entire exhaust system may cost you a hefty $500 fine if you're stopped.. but what if it's just the mufflers? Any idea?

Alternatively.. I was also considering having my stock pipes slash-cut... that will make em a little louder though it will still pale in comparison to the Pythons.

Any thoughts on this?

hi bro... just my 2cents...

if u r caught with illegal mufflers or exhaust, the fine is 700. some tp or lta may bring u for inspection. thats our law.

python pipes r good. bassy and good sound when throttle is opened.. do consider...

cheers!

Rule of the thumb...

get aftermarket exhaust that look like the stock pipes..

Tapered style...

Slash cut, straight shots etc are not on the very safe side unless your slash cut is like mine... (quiet...lol)

thanks for this mate.. was already planning to get the tapered python mufflers.. coupled with a set of heat-shields too so there is no visible branding on the pipes. ;)

Yup tat would be the safest method using heat shields if not will need to use those heat tapes for exhaust....

I was wondering, if i got SE pipes, would i be able to make that pipes louder by removing the baffels n stuff?

I had my SE pipes baffles removes and it will be loud only when you dragged it. But somehow if y ou compare with python or other brands, they are still louder i guess.

Bro, I've got some heat shields(flame design and fexible ones). If you interested, let me know.

Ok thanks mate. I still got my stock heat shields so don't know if those will fit though. Decided not to get the Pythons.. might just settle for Cycle Shack or KhromeWerks aftermarket pipes.. they come in tapered style and have no branding. :)
