as long as it is not higher than your shoulder..parallel height with your shoudler is acceptable

which means ape bars around 12inch or below is acceptable, unless you have a long body, 14inch may still be acceptable

How about I push my handlebar inwards to make it lower than my shoulder b4 going for my inspection? Will that works?

Nope, i tried that on my 16 rise ape. If you really like high ape, then keep your stock bar, just change it back during inspection.

Thanks but are the long cables ok with stock handlebar?

Problem with this is that if you change you handlebar for the inspection, it's not only the handlebars that has to be changed. Throttle, brake and clutch cables etc should be changed too or else you're gonna be left with a lot of slack on your cables and they'll be hanging all over the place.

If you're really worried, put your bike in a shop and get them to send it for inspection for you. They'll know what to do with the bike so that it passes inspection and then they return it to you in the same condition you rode in with... with a "Pass" on the inspection certificate. Like magic. :)

If it has t!ts or a kickstand, I can ride it.

My bikeshop changed back to a stock handlebar with cable ties on the long cables...That's what they told me how they pass the inspection. Just sharing :)

That's one way to go as well.. in which case.. you can change the handlebars yourself if you know what you're doing.

Good luck. :)

Mine was a 14" and my previuos owner told me that he had it thru with that handle bar when he went for the inspection. Others shared with me that it;s not possible and some says lower it down and as long as below shoulder level, it will be fine! Am lost! Lol.....

Mine are currently 14" and so the day will inevitably come when I have to decide what to do, but based on what I've heard, I think I will just lower down the bars till shoulder level and send it for inspection. You won't know until you try.

If it doesn't pass, just send it to the bike shop and get them to do their magic. In any case.. it only costs $18 for the inspection so no worries.

Thanks, mate! Will give it a try when the time comes and I guess I will also lower it too! Lower it down till at the side of my waist! Hahaha...!

If you failed the inspection, you can go back to the same centre again for inspection after you'd changed the handlebar, and you do not need to pay again for reinspecting the failed items.

Your bars look like mini-apes so i think they will be ok.. can't say the same for your pipes though. LOL

Yawn, obviously a lot of riders here who do not own a bike with apehangers.

I have ridden 2 Harleys in the past 9 years in Singapore both with apes over 16" high.

I've never had a problem with an inspection.

But that maybe because I know where to take my bike.

And if you really want to do it the easy way, just pull the apes forward until they are under shoulder height.
