Fishing @ kelong is not prohibited . Been fishing since young , mayb younger den 10 yr old ? Fishing is prohibited @ those little guilin etc where they have e ranger . I 've nv seen a ranger gng around . Thanks anyway .

i grew up in kampung and start fishing before i went school...now almost 30years old liao. so how many years experience i have also don't know.

i been to malaysia and indonesia fishing too....fresh to salt water. so can i be consider experience?

i also went to few kelongs before too, pasir ris and lim chu kang...why nobody stop me when fishing?

 

so can teach me your skills? i think i am novice

I have a friend who owns a Kelong. The last trip I went there 2yrs ago was interupted by the marine police. Penalty for fishing at Kelong without permit : S$250 fine.

 

I m not a good fisherman n i have done no fresh water since I think 10yrs ago liao. If u really like to go deep sea fishing, u can go to Tampines blk 201b n look for a tackle shop named "Tackle 2000". Ask for uncle lee n ask him about his Kuching trips. They charge about S$550/person for a 5/6days trip all in. They organize other trips to Muldives, Sabah.... Just check with them.

 

I dont always follow the same group of fishermen. Mix around quite a lot so basically I dont know where i will go for the next trip also. But Kuching in April is good for tengiri if u like that. Can pull till u surrender. Fish size usually around 3-4kg for the small ones. 10-15kg for the few bigger ones. Snapper there is also usually sized at 3-6kg. Sabah a bit ex at S$700++ but really good if u want to try 100m+ water fishing for ruby snapper, GTs, Coral trout, dog-tooth tuna-(3-4kg), then at night can try sharks at 30-80kg. I know how to put the bait on the hook n into the water n wait for the fish to bite then challenge it in a tug of war onli.

yes.. u are right.. kelong is not for everyone happy happy to fish there,

i was told by my police coast guard friend that only have so call special permit to go there.

 

those who went there fish b4 is maybe lucky that coast guard didnt petrol to catch u,

just like u can speed 200km/h..no TP around..

just don't get caught..

i mean can't you see even it has been mentioned 2 or 3 times it is 'prohibited', there are still people putting down their names for this fishing trip. When you have the guts, go for it! Just like harley riders, they have the guts, they go on with nice modications even though they know is illegal.
