Hi all,it is very difficult for me to choose a bike for commuting! I really got no choice just to get this Made in CHINA YBR 250 , S4 latest model Revo (injection) got some problems with their injectors(not all,try your luck!),SilverWing 400 too bulky & difficult for pillion to get up & down,Runner 200 get heated up fast & worst hen you stuck @JAMs like causeway jams,Diversion XJ6 & Fazer 8 too sporty for elderlies! So i can't have a choice at all! Anyone had this bike & please commend on this.......

I'll have to agree with @crazydj there is little incentive to get a 250cc in Singapore. 400s are almost dirt cheap if you know where to look (just be prepared for the big maintenence bills). Or get a 200 and tune it right, and lighten the darn thing, you will get 'almost' the punch of a 250cc.

 

Minus the 2A license, while still enjoying $10 (or less!?) oil changes.

 

Oh but you want new bikes.

 

I prefer getting almost scrap condition one and restoring it to "something else altogether". DIY fun for the whole family :3

You got to understand. The maintenance of a single cylinder 4 stroke 250cc is almost the same as a 2B 4 stroke.

my uncle bought a ybr250 from e yamaha showroom in ubi.. tried it.. felt like a 125cc 2 stroker. Decent speed for transport. Think of it as a 2b 2 stroke, but with 4 stroke maintenance..

I confirmed this bike's from CHINA,because i found a tag in chinese: Yamaha Motorcycle Co.The bike shop confirmed this bike is assemble in China or Brazil,only Fazer 250 is made in Brazil.Crab! So i cancelled the order and the boss made me pay 200 bucks for cancellation!Damn!

I have nothing against Chinese bikes - they just need time to mature just like everyone else. Pity Zongshen doesn't have a 200cc 'chopper' entry to compete with the Phantom.

 

I am waiting for someone to import a Lifan LF-400 which is like a Chinese-version Steed.

 

Lifan is a long-respected manufacturer of industrial and farming engines which means reliability is not a problem.

I also have nothing again Chinese bikes. So far, my YBR, almost never gave me problmems. The only problems were the fittings and plastics were falling apart. But then again, a few dollars to buy the stuff from my "secret shop" solves everything! Other than that, engine still going strong. Just have to replace the "replaceables" now and then.

 

But the price at $8800 is a turn off. I was hoping since it was a CHINESE bike, it would be much, much cheaper.

$8800 not no mentioned it resale value, how about CB250? Bullet proof engine as well...
