Hi guys. I'm doing my calculation right now about which bike I'm getting. I've stopped riding for 4years since I got married and bought a car. Last bike I was riding was the GSXR k5 750. I'm thinking of getting either a spark 135 or super 4, wanted a ducati monster 400cc but unfortunately I'm having trouble finding one.

With my office new ruling that those who want to park there must buy a season parking which cost almost $300, its time for me to get a bike (plus I'm cursing and swearing each time you guys zoom past my car during the morning peak period which I'm always late for work!)

I just would like to know the petrol cost of each bike and the mileage each bike could travel. A cost of tyre and maybe maintainance could help but that I roughly know. Its just to go from point A to B (you know to send wife to work and for me to get cheap ERP and parking at work the bike have to be comfortable for her too. Fetch her no problem I can take my car.) :cheeky:

I don't have to be faster then you. I just need to on my blinker!

I find Piaggio would be nice as well, plus there are plenty of storage for helmet and if you intend to shop with wifey there's room for shopping goodies as well. Maintenance wise not sure, didn't ride a scoot before but I heard not to stress that much on a scoot as the belt might snap and its expensive to replace one.

Phantom would be another nice choice, with extremely good & comfortable pillion seat (MPOV)

I'm riding a CLS2 st-fighter, full tank 19litres inclusive of reserve, so far the best I can clock closing to 290km per full tank. Currently, I top the tank about 10+ day cause I only using it for work and a few trips around sillypore. About tires, for mine surely expensive (approx 200++ and above) since I use size 120 & 180 for CB400SF 120 & 160. There are affordable options too, beside it should last you a year or more. Again riding are vulnerable so investing in a pair of good tire are our top priority. Sorry apart from tires, rider and pillion should equip with proper apparels (*dress for crash not for ride!)

bike is a machine without soul, rider would inject new life and character to this machine

Haha Ya coz morning rush mah when she go to work so bike will be good. By the time she finish work the road is not that heavy so I normally go home and get my car b4 fetching her. Yes I know that 2B is cheaper in petrol and maintainance. Its like comparing Apple and Orange lol.. but I just need some numeric figures need to count if the monthly outlay is within reasonable budget

Hmm the CLS2 ST Fighter I can look into it. But how much is a 2nd hand bike cost for that? My Budget is 4 - 5K anything less is good anything more I have to top up the balance by a short maybe 1yr installment

CB750 can fetch around 5k too, GSR6 less than 10K, Fazer6 less than 10K, Older Fazer1 Gen1 can fetch below 8K (*depends on plate/model too)...

I ride a X-1R before, 4 litres tank, less than 10SGD for full tank can clock approximately 200km per full tank. Provided I regulate the speed at 80km/hr.

Thanks for the feedback mild_slevin. Many of my old bikers friend recommend me to take at least a class 2A and above since I'm used to the power of a class 2. At least the power is not a tremendous downgrade. And it suit me as I will look like a Moscow bear on bicycle if I ride a spark 135 or the x1r.. A CB 750 sound nice but as they say the bigger d cc, the more the petrol consumption, the higher the maintainance as in mthly servicing, insurance and roadtax. Enough I throw $$$ on my 2nd wife now to throw $$$ on my 3rd wife hmm....

Yup going for a S4. Might be ver S or spec 1. Sometimes all this version can be abit confusing so I'll stick to my $5K budget. If I can find Project Big will be good though

a stock DRZ with no mods can achieve 220++KMs before reserve(7L)..

I previously gotten 32km/L on my DRZ.. 7L for about 230KM..

full tanks should be achieving 300KM, but normally you will pump when you are at reserve..

Engine oil is 1.7L each EO change, Sparkplug is 1 only..

maintenance is way cheaper then S4..

EO every month change =$38

sparkplug every other 3-4 EO change = $15

only downside of DRZ is the vibrations..

is e vibrations v obvious ?

7l can go 220km,not bad

yeah,cfm cheaper
