wrap? lets put a bit of science here

metal heats up

if unwrap, its cooled when u park the bike

if wrap, it retains the heat and it will become hotter inside when riding, as it is higher temp, it reduces the "material strength" as a result, u get corrosion and exhaust leakage in the long run, thus bike lose power.

in the end its up to individual

How abt those with titanium headers? Will they corrode? If wrapped, wouldn't the heat be lesser to when it comes to us?

i just wanna noe if the setting suits most 51kg ppl. set or not set, wats done have been done. so i am just curious if the setting is 'right'. i noe there r no right setting as its more of personal pererence but there is a standard guide? i feel much better after decreasing the pressure in my tyres, even much better than stock. Thanks anyway.

Hi all,

anyone know a good place for SS brake lines? I thinking of a red set, any recommendations on brand?

thanks

venhill brake lines with brake fluid $180 DIY by motovation or galfer lines for $180 by motoworld includes installation

Bro he is riding K4/5 not K7... it become a harsh ride after he set he suspension... wat i mean is if stock is ok for road use Y have to set for better cornering in singaopore road? I know somebody set for the properly tune suspension in order to feel comfort for road use. but will you really use it on the road? If you can set it to ur comfort good for you but if you cant set it to ur comfort you have to keep setting and setting waste of time...

Sometime is not the bike is the rider.

personal preference lar bro. for me my stock setting juz sweet enuff for my ride in sg but will set a few turns harder if im goin track.

bro, why not u search the net or see ur manual and set the setting back to stock. if not tech thye, mezzo and bikelab can tune it at a fraction of a price. my fren k4 did it for $40 to set for track. juz be sure to inform the mech ur riding style and the kind of feeling u want for ur suspension.

ok thing abt titanium is

so... moral of the story is.... stainless steel can wrap, titanium don't wrap?

i searched abit on heat wrap, those selling will claim "more hot air in exhaust = faster the air "shoot" out

but it seems that its not good to wrap titanium headers

story goes...

if you got the Ti headers you NEED to remove the wrap!!! Yes it is true that you shouldn't wrap Ti exhaust. . .this is in fact due to the metallurgical properties of Ti and it's reaction to the high temp's that it will see. . .wrapping is different than coating in that you aren't holding the heat inside of the pipes like with a ceramic coating you are holding the heat against the pipe. . .more of a benefit with cars and an engine bay to help try and keep the intake charge cooler by keeping the air temp inside the engine bay as cool as possible. . .I won't go into all the details regarding the properties of Ti but the Ti WILL start to oxidize (regardless of whether they get wet or not) with them wrapped. . .you won't see the oxidation in the form of rust like you would on SS. . .it will be in the form of an off-white to very slightly yellowish powder forming on the Ti. . .there won't necessarily be a lot of it but it will be compromising the integrity of the Ti. . .it may take a longer time for it to significantly compromise the Ti but with the price of Ti systems I cannot imagine why you would want to do anything which would damage the exhaust in any way. . .I know that no one answered this portion of the question earlier in the thread and I just now looked at it so as soon as I saw that you had wrapped the headers I figured that I should let you know the answer to your previous question concerning exhaust wrap and Ti. . .sorry I didn't see the thread earlier to save you the time and effort involved in wrapping the exhuast. . .I can't remember for sure about coatings and Ti but I believe that you can coat the Ti with a ceramic coating and not worry about the oxidation. The ceramic coating is used to keep the heat inside the exhaust pipe. . .I could go into a whole lot more depth in this subject than what I have but I think that this should be sufficient for you. . .notice that you NEVER see any of the factory race bikes of any kind with exhaust wrap on their exhaust systems. . .not saying that the factories are the end all to be all when it comes to what to do and what not to do but with the extreme competition between the factories if there was an edge to be gained with something as relatively cheap and easy as exhaust wrap then you would see them using it.

Guys, you all remember that time I told you that my bike's handle shakes up and down when I ride? Well, yesterday I went to Tachyon to have it checked. The mechanic said that my tyres botak liao so I had both changed to Conti Sports Attack for $350 a set. Bleed my brakes as well.

When he set my forks and suspensions for me, he found out that my Ohlins koyak liao and needs to be service cos no more damping. Now I have to wait for the school holidays to have it serviced cos I still need my ride to go to work... :sian:
