anione knows if the front galfer brake discs can be...erm... "repaired"

 

mine has bcum rough & uneven, eating my brake pads like termites. :(

 

buy BRAKING disk... haha~

 

forgot to add, i'm already on PC3 with custom tune, could it be the tuner issue?

thinking of getting it dynoed somewhere else, argh..

 

re: PAIR mod, was reading last night on how to cap the tubes etc, might give it a try.

 

care to share where u dyno tune?

I've installed ebc double H pads, hel ss braided lines but the front brakes still sucks.

 

What do you mean the brake suck? Brake feels spongy or brake not braking at all? Curious to know why cos I think EBS brake pads are good stuff.

project on my bike is now complete...

managed to fix my code error, setup my closed loop system, setup "new" quickshifter, takeout wateva accessories that i could not use anymore...

 

managed to get a test ride on my bike, feel smooth thruout the ride.. still need to learn/feel on what this closed loop system can really do...

 

still got alot of backfiring altho has done the PAIR mod... dont know if i do correctly or not... just plug the holes(1 at right side of airbox, 1 at the hose that connects to the 1st hole)...

First of all, your brake pads are new.... give it some time to break in.

 

if the brake lever feels spongy, the bleeding needs to be re-done.

 

also check if the calipers are jammed.... you should have serviced your calipers and replace dust seals as well when going for brake line and pad change.

not really good la, might be you're running too rich. sound mite be good but does not bring out the power of the pipe. best is to get a pc3 and tune to bring out the max power of the pipe.

I think right now there only one place that can be trust which is HKL. But you may get a trusted Dyno Machine center of any Mech to do it for you. Normally by tuning one or two times will not get the prefect setting.

 

Go back again and tell them whether you need the 'punch' or the 'power', whether the vehicle has any particular problems or points of concern, ie: gas mileage, surging, lack of power, hard starting (hot or cold), pinging, missing, etc. Tell them what you face, so that they can rectify.

 

May i know which shop you send for Dyno?

Sucks how? No braking power, or u have to squeeze all the way in?

 

Have you set your brake lever span adjuster?

benson, i got one more solution for you. set your braking point for the brake lever to the furthest away. When you break, position your fingers to the right most part of the brake lever. Based on the fulcrum effect, you will perceive a better braking effect for lesser effort involved. If still cannot, go get a CRG lever and combo it with a 19X20 brembo caliper, and Braking disc brake.

 

btw could you tell me your front and rear suspension setup?

 

Hmm. B4 I changed to the braided hoses, the brakes work fine, in fact quite gd. aft the lines got in, it's still gd, but not like b4. Aft I changed the brake fluid 2day to motul rbf600, the rear brake brakes better then the front!! even my x1r rear brake bite better den the r1's front. I think something went wrong wid the bleeding process. will go n rectify tmr. Wish me gd luck!!

can someone answer mine

 

when you start your bike, it gives a irregular squeaking sound below you, not from the brakes at all..after you move off, it's back to normal, but only when you start up..?

 

advices..?:angel:

not sure if this is gonna answer your question, but...... after coming off a honda, which required only a tap of the e-start to fire her up, my R1 requires me to hold the e-start (during cold starts) for at least 2 secs.

Hmmm...

 

My previous 04 R1 never gave me a problem with starting. Just a tap and it started up nicely. My FZ1S also the same. One tap start.

 

Could you have gotten lemons?
