TRE= timing retard eliminator aka power-cut eliminator

Aprilia RS 125

Honda NSR 150SP

Honda CBR 400RRR

Suzuki GSXR 1000K4

KIA Cerato Forte 1.6SX

TRE fools your ECU into thinking it's in 4th, 5th or 6th gear when actually it's in 1st, 2nd or 3rd where the engine ignition timing would be retarded (and negative fuel I think) in the lower rpms. So instead of having 1N23456 mappings, it's all 4N44444, 5N55555 or 6N66666 depending on your selection. I would prefer if they have 4N44456.

The downside is the engine will have poorer fuel efficiencies and more carbon deposits. DIY TRE will most likely cause you to lose the gear indicator function while commercial units require you to cut a wire to the ECU.

I guess it depends on how bad is the damage, a motortiam might be able to patch it without much visible marks. you might want to look at that option before deciding to replace it

180 for a small crack. The person who made the crack is paying so I just do it.

I think it's up to you. If you can stand the scratches or not.

Or you can ask around, maybe the repair for scratches are cheaper :)

Lol i tried perm markers, but they dont look good. Havent used the paint markers sold at homefix though. Theres a susuki gloss black marker

My experience is that nice mechanics will tell you to live with it cause not worth the cash. And thats my opinion too. If not, mototiams solution will be to respray, even if its just a small scratch. you're looking for a respray, either localized or the entire fairing piece. Spraying a certain location may cause that part to have a different color from the rest of the fairing piece if workmanship isnt done well, which is why most mototiams actually will ask you to do the whole piece, cause they need to dismantle it to send for respray anyway. If you cant stand it, respraying the whole piece will provide you with the nicest outlook. They do provide an indistinguishable finish to the point you cant tell they patched it.

However, if you looking for a quick DIY Fix, may i suggest this product call plastidip. Think it retails 20-30 bucks a can in Singapore. You can find the distributor for plastidip here

I havent tried it myself, but my friend is trying it on his car. So i await his reviews. I do think its a fairly cheap way to both protect and mask scratches and paint peels temporarily till you have cash or a bad enough drop to warrant a respray of your bike. Dont know if it will match your stock paintwork, but you can always peel it off if you dont like it.
