Ok, from what I recall.

If the smoke is gray/bluish, it's oil being burnt. It can come from a few places. Valve stem guide and/or seals leaking, oil can enter upstream of the intake. Piston ring worn / cylinder wall worn, can lead to oil getting past that interface. If excessive, will notice engine oil levels dropping.

 

If the smoke is gray/white, it may be coolant leaking into the combustion chamber. Can be from blown head gasket, cracked cyl wall/head. Smell the exhaust, if it has a sickly sweet smell, it's probably your coolant burning off if it's the normal type of ethylene glycol anti-freeze. If excessive, you will notice coolant loss from the expansion bottle and/or brown scum when you open your radiator cap. Additionally, revving under load with the cap off, you may be able to see small bubbles.

 

If it's just a little white smoke in the morning when cold, then likely to be just water vapour burning off.

monitor yr eo and coolant level first. piston worn eo burning should be greyish to darkish. you might be burning coolant or overfilled the eo peharps

what RPM do you change gear?
