Hehe, Found some new infos.

This KTM 125duke is estimate to have a launching price of 4000 Euros. HK side they may be selling HK$70K.

A Aprilia RS25 cost HK$52K.

Using these numbers. Even Local agent dowan to mark up. It will be at least at RS125 prices.

im sorry for my incompetance but im still new to this motorcycle world so would someone enlighten me please.

why is it much more expensive in HK than in Euro? and 4000 euro is 7.1k in sgd so can we expect a price around 8-9k (wif insurance and coe and everything)

and thanks in advance =)

Well, Diff country have different tax systems. Plus diff agent wants diff level of profits. We also have to take note of frieght and other stuff. The figures in discussion is just estimates base on past patterns.

Besides, Singapore industry we already have a few similar patterns. BMW and VW.

IF you check out the prices of BMW in europe and HK. The machine price in sg is anytime 50% to 80% more.

VW is is even a better joke. Golf and jetta in europe are just bread and butter models. But In sg, they a re selling it at premium level price.

I email to dirt wheel, distributor of ktm in spore, they told me it will hit our shore end of the year..

Yeah Dec 2011. Cost ~ 10-11k excl COE and Insurance.

There are rumors that 200cc version is probably in the making (fastbike mag) as the frame work is designed for higher capacity.

Using Bajaj parts or probably made by Bajaj.

The 200cc version is meant for Asian release so chances are, we'll get the 200cc version because 125 is for the European market. Hopefully its affordable because its

1)Bajaj+KTM 2)Made in India. If got spares, hopefully Bajaj brings them in so will be cheaper

This KTM bike is good looking but its not a high end. Its pricing was due to the manufacturing and shipping cost.

8.5k machine price sounds like a good deal. it is only slightly more expensive than standard made-in-thai jap 2b machines, and significantly cheaper than 2b aprilias. of coz a current 2-stroke RS125 would probably run rings around this baby duke, but considering strictly the current crop of 4 stroke 2b bikes, 8.5k is quite a reasonable price for what is obviously european style looks.

what i'd really like to see next is for KTM to bore out the engine to 150cc and make a baby RC8 like Yamaha India's R15.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!
