Wow, more choices for the 2a level. Am wondering why they chose to model it after the VTR rather then the CBR tho..

looks more like a sports tourer. Sadly can't have a close up look on the pro-link suspension on its rear... it resemble the CBR150 which Thailand gonna introduce wor....

For now the looks are appealing to me, would like to see more :)

kind of weird to have it look like the VFR, then named after the CBR, and yet have an engine configuration unlike either VFR or CBR.....

still, its great to see the 2A category coming alive again. means now we've got this CBR250, the Ninja 250, the Ninja 400 (or ER-4 watever), plus the already available for some time CB400, CBX250, Hornet 250, GSR400...... quite good.

i hope to see GSX-R250 or GSX-R400 or YZF-R250 or YZF-R4 or FZ-4 Fazer appearing in future. then class 2a licence will start to make sense again.

I bet it gonna be pricey, look at the stuff they threw in the bike... Pro-link suspension, PGM-Fi, C-ABS...

So long there's more and more demand for 250cc I believe manufacturers would be most willing to update and push more of those baby in the market. LOL, who knows Yammie and Suzu might in for the race of 250cc sports. 250cc would be nice for some riders, its light weight, relatively good power and ease on maintenance. Seriously, not all prefer a 400cc motorcycle. :)

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car

and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall,

torque is how far you take the wall with you.

its nice! but i still think LTA should revise cc for 2b up to 250cc and ban or phase out 2 strokers. that would be good! quieter environment! lol.

February 2011 - March 2012 = Phantom TA 200

March 2012 - August 2013 = Suzuki Impulse 400

Present = BMW (Bus, MRT, Walk)

They should do 2B up to 250cc. 2A unrestricted.

Think They should intoduce Class 2C.

Class 2 C till 125CC.

2B till 250cc

2A till 600cc

2 Unlimited.

This will solve everyone's problem :p

c'mon man, is a 125cc bike so different from a 250cc bike that u need to split the class into 2 tiers and force another year on riders? split it where it makes sense, where the power jump is significant.

i support the 2 tier suggestion: first tier up to 250cc and then next tier is open.

and frankly i'd love to say why i think is a good idea, but i said it all before years ago in my thread under rally point thread where i wrote to TP arguing that the current 3-tier system is obsolete.

but hey if 250cc and 400cc bikes do make a return, i'd agree the 2A category is relevant again.

I'm wondering what factors that decide 2B license holder only ride vehicle displacement up till 200cc?

Any way this baby should be a nice sport commuting, but I guess not many power savvy rider would fork out $$$ for a "powerful" 250cc bike. (*at times we might have quite a unreasonable thirst for power)

Well, This is realistically speaking.

Of course I like the modern approach of just 2 bike class.

But knowing LTA. They will sure give the standard answer of bike too power for newbie to handle and etc.

By creating a 2C, it satisfied LTA. (with exception if newbie get rs125 or mito 125.)

Then all current 2B holder can get up to 250 and 2a get up to 600. This satisfied the current license holder.

Finally, with the current scheme. It is more in sync with the international bike license scheme (I think but I may be wrong)

actually it doesn satisfy me as a licence holder.

your 2c-2b-2a-2 system; to get to my 600cc sports, i wld still need to get through 3 tiers, exactly as wat i did with current system. worse still if now i want to up myself to 1000cc, i must go for test yet again, wasting more time and money. where's my benefit as a biker? some more, ppl aiming for super4 now must get thru 3 tiers wif ur system instead of the current 2 tiers. implementing a 2c class makes no benefit to bikers.

internationally, under 18 restricted to 125cc regardless how many years of riding. after 18, any bike oso can ride no matter how big even if first time on bike. as a biker, i oso think the later is stupidly dangerous, but i think a 250cc cap of one year for all beginner riders is enough.

wud be irritating to see nsr & rs250s with p-plates..

about 250cc single cylinder, i would wait until the future MOTO3 technology brought to streetbikes.

Your reasoning is flawed. How does having to go thru 4 tiers of licence "satisfy current licence holder"? Also by your logic, a "2C" rider wouldn't be allowed on a Spark 135 but is allowed to handle a RS125 or a 125z instead.

I am glad you're not working in one of those boards that decide this kind of decisions.

The best if 1 licence for all classes of motorbikes! Who's with me?!?! :cheeky:

One license for all motorbikes... but the caveat is learning world-class advanced riding theory (ala Keith Code), a license cost almost that of Class 3, and instead of 8 stages, 20. Problem with getting places for high speed / high power road courses. Oh wait, can use Lim Chu Kang.

Erm, but then there would be no market for small bikes. Just go straight for Hayabusa!

If we had more territory under Singapore flag, it would work :D

They apparently use 500cc Harleys as learner bikes in the States. 500!

Market will always be there. Don't forget that money is the deciding factor when getting bike. Its the same concept with cars. If no money like me, go for cheaper bikes. Cars would be like perdua, kancil cherry. Got a bit of money, vios, madzda 3 etc. Got money? This one i dont need to say.

Same thing like electronics. Same thing like every single damn thing that you are willing to spend money on. There will always be a market for it.

Too true. I'm actually hoping there's a 2B version of class 3 because I'd like to own a K-car. Don't want $3,000.00 license can? lol

(It's a Japanese classification for very small vehicles, usually under 1000cc). But we can all see how congested Singapore is already!

Hmmm.... Malaysia. Tempting...
