Talk is cheap.

Doing, is the hard part.

No appreciation, nevermind.

But then, c0ck comments/feedbacks are the sucker punch.

It will never be easy for those who're organising.

Simply because it can never satisfy everything/everyone.

Organising a trip, overseas or local, is not just about "hey, lets mount up & go!"

There's things to tk in mind, like number of ppl attending, route planning, helpers and most of all, safety.

Unless the core group are already close knit, and each and everyone is comfortable with riding with one another, understands each other and other habits and etc, then I'll say it shouldnt be much of a problem.

Otherwise, hiccups do happens.

Agreed, easier said than done. Even organising a simple wedding convoy with free meals provided can be MAKE complex

Just do it for yourself, not them.

You are a special breed.

The only reason why I'm not laughing with you is that I prefer laughing at you.

Dear all, i will be interested to join any short trips within state of Johor. I have toured many places with my Phantom TA200. I have been to 3NCR 2011, Hatyai, Cameron Highlands, Ipoh, Klang, Malacca, Desaru, Bt Indah, Kluang, Kulai, Gunung Ledang and other places within Johor Bahru.

Please be assured that the old Phantom (mine just renewed COE) can be a tourer bike when properly maintained. Here is a list of advantages.

1. Very good FC, my lousiest FC is 35km/L. This will be very helpful as you can make less stops, less risk of running out of petrol due to unforseen circumstances eg Petrol Station closed for renovations and save money especially in Thailand where the petrol prices is similar to SG's prices.

2. Comfortable riding position (a good comfy seat will be helpful)

3. Large storage spaces as Phantom is suitable for installation of 2 side boxes/ saddle bags plus a large rear box.

4. Old simple bike means almost every bike shop in Malaysia and Thailand will roughly know how to fix. Phantom is manufactured in Thailand, saw a few in Hatyai myself. And spotted a handful of Phantoms with Malaysian plates in Malaysia. Big bikes usually only shops in KL know. Battery got problem, cannot start still have the option to push start. Not all newer bikes have this option.

5. Low CG with relatively large tyres and torque, able to ride on unpaved roads. I rode up to the tallest point in Cameron with relative ease. Not much worry about dropping bike on slope

Only disadvantage

1. Low top speed of 110-120 km/h, hard to keep up with the rest of convoy but you can just move off earlier than main convoy and know when to exit at next pit-stop.

VERY IMPT, keep your bike well maintained especially the old ones, let workshop have a thorough check before going and never exceed 100km/h for too long or engine will be damaged.

Do not let the big bikers put you down, with determination and ample preparations going to Phuket is definately possible. Hope this helps my fellow PK riders. Ride safe =)

Hi PKs, will be going to Sepang next mth oct for motogp. However will be taking car or bus there. But im thinking of riding there with my phantom in future trips. Just wondering how many pit stops for refuel is needed for the trip there from sg? My FC is around 33-35km/L. Also i can ride at speeds between 100-110 but engine sounded close to screaming liao and theres quite a substantial amt of vibrations. For hr long journey my leg will get numb from the vibrations. However im very keen to ride there in future tgt with my friends. It will also be my first trip overseas on a bike. Any advices?
