U r absolutely right abt the shocks. Damn lousily soft :sian: Somemore they r WP shocks. Bo pian lah, need to give it a chance to 'sit' in the shocks first cos now only 4.5k on the clock. According to Advrider Forum, needs at least 5 -8 Ks to season them.

The plot thickens.....

Lets see, WP is owned by KTM, who in turn makes the 950, which is competing against the GS for the same market.......... o_O

We don't see original Honda kitted with Ohlins as OEM parts now do we........ :nono:

Hey SDR, thks man !!! Actually, i always felt tat the GS12 is a bit too cyber to look like a tough mean round the world machine. Yep, to a certain sense the styling appeals, but as a GS.... its still felt different though. Whatever it is, its still my LUV man

Oh ! Need to clarify my comments abt the lousy soft shocks. My mistake, I had actually tune the rebound damping all the way to 'S' which means SOFT. Tried playing with it on Sun and to my pleasant surprise, tuning it to 'H' did the trick  Now I am a HAPPYRIDER , no more pogostick

Hey Cyclops, nice pics man ! Bet it cost a bomb to have them

All of them looks damn chio, so which one r u going to have

Hey Koma, take your pick :D

Yo GS1200, I still prefer to mount the Aux lights on the crash bars like we discussed before. It help maintains the bike width profile and also put the lights low so we won't shine into other road users' eyes. Been at the receiving end from too many inconsiderate drivers/bikers before so I know how dangerous it can be. http://www.ukgser.com/forums/images/smilies/250503/pillepalle.gif

But this kit also include the shabang that our CAN BUS needs, see quote below:

kit also includes a ‘switched power’ ‘Plug’n Play’ wiring interface kit that allows connection to the parking lamp switched power circuit, for the control switch/relay assy, without the need to splice into the CAN BUS System wiring harness. The I/F kit also allows power to flow only in one direction, never allowing power to flow back to the bike’s sensitive CAN BUS System. During Tech Training, BMW briefed that splicing into any part of the electrical harness could void the BMW Electrical Warranty coverage. Our ‘Plug’n Play’ solution should eliminate any potential warranty issues with the electrical system

So what do ya think? It does look good with the PIAA 1100PX lamps... http://www.ukgser.com/forums/images/smilies/splif.gif

Thinking of one, probably the Quest.

Pro: essential for topoking like me http://www.ukgser.com/forums/images/smilies/bnige.gif

Cons: - Mounting adds clutter

- $$$, especially for those with bigger display

- Mustn't forget to bring it along when you're away from the bike http://www.ukgser.com/forums/images/smilies/a4.gif

I was on my bike, stopped at Traffic Junction and just nice the bike was facing me. Didn't look at it closely but judging on the shining spokes, think it should hv been well taken care of unless it is a new wheel. did see 1 about 1.5yrs ago at PML, parked behind. Wonder if this is the bike. What time is Vector 1 closing? Any idea, may be going down today @ 1800hrs to take a look.

Actually, I am badly influence by you guys here, I never wanted a GS, now a bit itchy. I prefer naked roadbike or sportbike. LOL - :gun: Bad influence.

For those who don't hv time to go down, following pictures for your reference, a 1995 GSPD, looks very similiar to mine as in Engine (except engine covers), gear, final drive, frame and etc... :

http://www.cifumotorsports.com/mc/1995bmwpd/images/pd5t.jpg

Then you ought to have a close up look at this bike, the other had parts like crash bars, panniers etc are kept with the owner.

Vector 1 doesn't close that early, i was there at times as late as 10pm and they were still there...

Bad influence?? hmmm, well I couldn't give a sh*t about GS a few years back but as you meet riders/owners and having owned the RT, I was bought over :lovestruck: Why the GS? perhaps Cyclop or GS1200 care to comment?

Must be something good lah (not bad) or else why would there be more and more GS owners here, rite?

:cheer:

To me, I am particularly impressed with the Telelever that perhaps I might wanna have that as my middle name...hee hee

Hving ridden/owned so many bikes before, I can say nothing comes close to it..then again that inovation alone is indeed extraordinary :thumb:

Yes indeed why the GS........

For one who's brought up on sportsbikes, I guess its the performance :thumb:

For one who's in the engineering line, I guess its the technology :thumb:

For one who's body's no longer keeps up with the spirit, I guess its the comfort :thumb:

For one who's not into "mainstream", I guess its the uniqueness :thumb:

For one who's into nostalgia, I guess its the boxer :thumb:

For one who digs the pedigree, I guess its the Blue Propeller :thumb:

Sigh...work will never end. So as much as I can, 'slot' in as much fun as I can. heh heh heh.

Yeah, didn't 'touch' Bertha for 3-4 days. So yesterday, on my way back to SG, I was on 2nd link from Perling to GP toll when I went all the way to 180km/h. It was around 9pm. Not many vehicles on the highway. The moment it touches 180km/h, I released the throttle already. Phew.....nervous...but shiok.... hahahah.

GSGabes, how was your east coast trip?
