Hello

I just got in here after reading as guest user. You guys seem very knowledgable about this BMW motorcycles. I was wondering if you guys can comment about this BMW motorcycle R1150GS Adv. There's talk about R1200GS, R1150GS,R1100GS and R100GS. How about make a comparison, I want to get this motorcycle but it seems very limited here.

BTW GS1200 and Cyclop nice ride you have there.

Hey Koma, the Deserto fairing gives it a very Paris Dakar look. There are a few of them in Singapore but seems to have disappeared from the scene:sian:

I m not so sure abt the wind protection though

From the 2 colour combo, the Blue n Silver actually looks better n its in the scheme of the 75th Anni. model. Wasnt this one of the colour combo we discussed abt too

Yep the meter seems more affordable but never heard of anyone using it though in Singapore. Only way to find out is to ask the guys in Advriders.

Eh...... a little too flashy for my taste http://www.advrider.com/forums/images/smilies/patch.gif And the carbon bits, sad to say that most of those that I've seen are wet lay and not pre-preg, hence doesn't gives much advantage over FRP but at much higher cost. I like the exhaust and the Y-pipes though, I think they are Sebring. What fasinate me most are the 'Velocity Stack' looking funnels that sticks out backwards at the back of the blocks, anybody knows what those are?? http://www.advrider.com/forums/images/smilies/ne_nau.gif

Hello gregwhite, welcome aboard!! http://www.advrider.com/forums/images/smilies/wave.gif

As you can see, SDR is our resident BMW expert and GS1200 have experience on both 1100 and 1200. The rest like me are first time GS owner. I guess the first thing that strikes you is that the ADV is a big bike, so there's quite a bulk to heave around. Its been proven to be quite capable, ala LWR. You can still get it new. Come meet us one of these day and we can talk more. http://www.advrider.com/forums/images/smilies/beer.gif
