Well, the impact was on the side, non frontal. But the front frame of the chasis is bend inwards.

How to justify that?!

The quality of the product have been compromised.

The PR services deteriorated.

Many are losing confidence.

Hey papabread,

Yours is a cavity break. Please take some pics of the cavity and have it analyse. Will help you in your claims as well.

hi there,

it is true with the drop in product quality. factory has rushed production to meet to the worldwide demand for the bike.

bmw bikes will not go far at this rate of failure...

i am losing confidence too... esp when you pay premium in price and in servicing, but problems persist...

Gentle GS... really need to be 'gentle' to the bike..

Even if they do, there's nothing they can do about it.

As a representative of the product, they will stand by the company's side.

Its never the bike, its the rider. Which is true and but I don't blame them.

To be fair it has to be case to case basis. And I think mine is a genuine case. I've been riding off-road dual purpose bike all my life. I've seen all kind of crashes and accidents that even may lead to death. I know what kind of impact that will cause damage to a chasis.

A side swipe is not one of them, especially at VERY LOW SPEED.

I rest my case.

Oh yes, I am sure ... :p

Not the decision making people, maybe there are some feedbacks to there ears ...

but they don't really give a shiit ...

Their concern is to make money. Making money in every possible ways ... :p

"Case by case"... agreed.. if a space shuttle can be blown into bits nothing surprising about a cracked titanium (not to mention alloy)... I'm sure they'll come ard making some improvements, just a few incidents more shud push them a bit... Btw, making $$$ is the main reason for a business to exist, just that whether the business owner can sleep better with the $$$ made in their hands... in this case i think they still can sleep quite well...

me 2cts as an ex-beemer rider... and an ex-business owner...

we pay a premium over the RRP in europe and america but always at the losing end compare to them.... how fair it is in this world. look at all the toyotas that are recall back from all over the world...

Can this ever happen in my country for motorcycle or have to  at one corner as per normal...:pity:

I am ready to sign the petition if you guys want... :dot:

all the best

imho, it doesn't matter how the accident happened but the assessment of the damage to the machine has to be made by professionals.

If you are not confident of PML's assessment, you can try to see if there are other bodies like vicom or STA (maybe) who can provide a second opinion. Unfortunately we may not have the proper assessment centres like other countries to provide that opinion, but you will have to pay for their services.

If you can justify that the damage does not equate to the seriousness of the accident, lodge a complaint via the local dealership to the headquaters. send it by registered post to both the head-office and local dealer and await their response. I have done this a few times with my car dealer and trust me, it does wonders in the attitude and service level later on as they know you mean business.

from the dealerships perspective, they can honor the claim if they want to and make a claim against the HO for the warranty but it usually takes time and effort on their end and as such will try to avoid it.

Make it known that you are unhappy (in black and white) and things may change.

in the meantime, get the bike fixed via your own insurance cover or claim against the lorry that swiped you. i suppose the important thing is to get the bike up and running first, as you should be enjoying the bike and not loosing hair and sleep over it.

hope we get some good news from you on this matter.

its a rough day at work and hence the long post.
