Some leaked pictures of the 2012 GSA are out in the rumour mill. Same colour scheme as Magma Red, but this time round with LED handguards to accentuate the looks.

Here's a pic:-

I heard the LED light has the ability to cut a path through traffic like how Moses part the red sea. Is it true?

This is something i find it hard to disagree. But before they can even move to the side, the Magma Red would have already pass it. As always.

Hi guys,

I am doing a mass order on a product call fenda extenda. It is a piece of plastic specially moulded to be fitted onto the existing front fender. Extending the fender to provide more protection against stone and other road debris thrown up by the front wheel. It will also cut down on the mud and dirt thrown onto the engine during rainy days, keeping the bike clean.

Pls take a look at my mass order thread.

Just a question to GS1150 (non servo assisted brakes) owners, how reliable is the engine? Is it "bullet proof"?

What would a fair price be for a 10yr old bike with basic accessories? Thanks if anyone could enlighten me abit on this matter..

Posted

the reliability of the engine depends on how well it was cared for. its the same with most bikes.

usually if all the oils are changed frequently and all the required checks are done, the engine, gearbox and drive train will usually last.

however, the consumables like the clutch, brake pads, discs, chain tensioner, timing chain and starter motor will still need to be replaced at some point in time.

all these items do costs a fair bit of money as well as they are not as common as other machines.

as i have said before, you are buying an expensive piece of kit, be prepared to pair for replacement parts. there are plenty of people out there who want to own a BMW but will not want to pay to maintain it, that is where the problems will start to arise.

a fair price is how much "you" are willing to pay for a particular bike.

Hi Bro, so far you have any problem with your fuel pump and speedo? Have you changed them before? Any idea on the prices? :)

Look in here for parts list:

And then order through here if needed;

http://www.motorworks.co.uk/

Motorworks is recommended by fellow riders here and offer one of the best value for parts. Just ordered some parts last night and is waiting for shipment now. Everything is good at this moment. Love their search function as well, you can key in BMW parts number, keywords, etc to find your intended item. Very effective.

Hi, if your speedo goes 'crazy' espcially during wet condition it could be the speedo sensor's cover (the part where near the rear wheel) is worn out and the metal part is exposed. From my experience, i dont have problem with both parts througout my 3yrs + of ownership

Between F650GS Dakar and ABS, which one is the better 1? With or without ABS.....

Then again, can ABS be fitted on the Dakar? what's the pricing like for the parts and work done?

Many thanks in advance......

Once again, selling the mini socket for BMW bikes. This socket will enable item like a car GPS to be plugged into the BMW bikes' power outlet.
