Like to ask fellow BMW owners here a few questions...

Where can we go to service the GS Adventure other than PML?

Service like major things not just oil change etc

If PI GS adventure, where would give the better after sales service?

I'm looking to get my GS soon and looking for the new 90th ed colour scheme.

Bro, just my experience. As u can see from my signature, I own a 12 years old BM, Performance Motor still keep the service record from the start when this bike was on the road... As BM is a pretty complicated electronic controlled bike, having a diagnostic equipment to find fault code is much simpler than traditional testing method. It's also safer in my sense, that's why BM owner is paying a premium to send their bike to performance motor for servicing or maintenance. By the way, some parts that u change will have warranty as well. My Hall Sensor comes with a 2 years warranty though it cost me $600+.

Your call ya. Happy research for a BM bike.

If u r buying a 2nd hand 4 years old bike, PI & PML both Out of warranty. 1 with local agent support. 1 without local agent support (PML do not service PI bike unless a non refund deposit is paid).

Which would you choose?

Heard enough stories about PI bikes. End of the day it's your money. **** happens. Cheers.

Though buying from authorised distributor got it's perks, just don't keep your hope too high that they can solve everything with their mumbo jumbo sophisticated tools.

Err, may I know you're buying new or 2nd hand. I still recommend 2nd hand from Agent. If you buy from PI, it may be cheaper but resale will be lower. I believe, many people looking for 2nd hand bike prefer it from Agent..if getting a PI bike and maybe due to god know what reason, send it to Agent, you need to fork out 5k to be a member, on top of it, all cost add 25%. That's your call...

What ever, buying a BM is a status, although some may think we are sucker...you just have to be prepared to pay for a premium...

I own many bikes as you can see from my signature, but I never regret owning this BM.

Cheers!

At least they provide warranty, bike shop don't have the capacity to do that.. Heard from many that send for tire replacement but end up spending more because mechanic tell u sprocket worn off, chain cant be used anymore etc..

Hi guys,

I've a brand new Montana 650 + Touratech lockable bracket to sell off. Both are open but I've not even mount it or use it. Selling because I found a more "all-in-one" device for my use (basically a waterproof phone la).

Anyone knows where a better website to try sell off my Montana?

4. Warranty?

1. Suzuki TS200 - yellow - yr 1994

2. Honda XR400 -white/red - yr1996

1. Bike parts (all the same)?

Parts definitely the same. You can even get the part number online.

2. Pricing i know PI is cheaper

Yes it's cheaper by 2-3 thousands. But they give you full options.

3. Servicing?

If your PI bike up the lorry, then PI cannot handle your problem send to PML be prepared to pay S$5k for adoption. Even you pay them you will not get the priority in the queue even with appointment. Unless you are mechanical incline you can handle repairs yourself. Otherwise you are as good as farked.

4. Warranty?

PI gives you international warranty up to 2 years after that you are still farked. But they will not handle the repair they will either outsource to another BMW repair shop or ........... for you to imagine.

It's your choice. More info PI vs Agent few pages back. Suggest you hangout with the actual owners. Where to go pm kan_adventure he has link with the BMW motorcycle club.

Cheers

Cheaper 2-3K Agree.

Full option? that will depend on Which PI shop.. NOT all PI shop give full option. some even give lesser than PML gave.

PML warranty 2 years.

Bike shop as good as PML? very subjective question. Both will have their supporters.

anyway i don't trust Hear say hear say. to me no use. Coz once bitten, twice shy.

Practice Always go down ASK n FEEL and judge on my own. Be it PML or PI.

Hi guys,

Thanks for all the PM. I'll add more info here from the questions asked. This set is "brand new". It's a USA set from Amazon, its open as I charged it but never use as it laid dormant while I was busy these 2 months but I decided to go with another solution.

Warranty wise, its USA, Garmin Singapore can cover cost of sending only. That said, I've quite a few Garmin GPS and none has ever failed. I can provide a 1 week personal warranty for this. Also, note I'm selling it quite cheap compared to sets here in SG unless you're refering to export sets prices in which case, the warranty issue will be same as this set.

Note this is a Montana 650. Its one of the top offering from Garmin. It usually does not come with any maps preloaded. However, I can help you load in either Malsing or Malfree map. It works just like any of the other Garmin Nuvi GPS

Actually i'm also stuck on the decision of PML or PI. Sold my bike but yet to place an order for the new bike. Also looking for more info about where to service the PI bike. Local jobs can do repairs up to what level? Valve clearance etc? Parts can order online so not big problem. But i do know parts purchase in PML(service by PML) got warranties too..
