Hi BMW owners. I just heard from someone that a red GSA got stolen from a hotel carpark in JB.

Any brothers have tips on which places in JB to avoid?

hi bro

as a matter of fact, the whole of m'sia is dangerous.its the preventive measures taken by individual to prevent crime from happening.for instance to pad lock the bike.park in brightly lit area or places with lots of human traffic.the best is to cover the bike.cheers & ride safe always.

Thanks for the tip. I always thought that since the GSA is a heavy bike, joy riders won't bother. But i guess the hefty price tag of RM$128,000 attracts those syndicated thieves instead. I need to get an alarm :sian:

Which hotel was that? JB is like any other big city. Singapore is the only exception. The best prevention is, to keep the bike within your sight at all times. Other than that, JB is pretty much safe.

The only advice..

Prevent parking your ride the entire night in JB. Years of entering via jb never once did I feel safe to park my bike the entire night since 2005 onwards. Somehow things got really bad from then on. Personally for me, the further u are from jb, the safer you are though not 100% true of course.

Just a note : Adv bikes are in demand now compared to sport or street bikes which was the hype years back.

So....you know.

I dunno which hotel, but looked like basement or multi storey type of parking. CCTV showed 2 guys meddling with the bike first but went away. Later on another 2 guys came and pushed away the bike presumably up a lorry. I really feel for the owner.

Yeah. The guy from motorrad Malaysia also said that the GS is selling like hot cakes there. So I guess there will be a big market to sell to...

My advise to everyone is that, never ever park your bike at any place that you can not see it (her). Avoid going for shopping in JB shopping malls with your bike. The money you may save are not worth if your bike is stolen. Use car or public transport. As I said before, JB is no any different than any other big city, as far as bike theft is concerned. If you go to other European cities, bike theft is even worst. To me, JB is a safe place, I never felt threaten or in danger over there, even when alone.

Hi Fellow Riders,

If you're looking for something to ease the vibration of your grips, let me introduce you to Grab on Grips, an excellent yet cheap product from the US. Used heavily by tourers in the US, compatible with heated grips, BMW grips and etc.

Grab on Grips is a new idea in grips. Turn your present grips into comfortable foam grips with a minimum of work. Simply slip these high quality EPDM foam sleeves onto the existing grips for a great feel. All of our Comfort grips are made from closed cell Nitrile foam. Typically what causes rubber to break down is ozone. In our NPVC foam, antidegradants are used to improve the resistance to the effects of ozone and UV light. This material has a pleasant feel that provides a positive and comfortable grip.

Do follow the link in my signature for more information or you can text me straight at 8236 9923 - Hairul. Join countless others who have experience the satisfaction.

Pricing wise, this is a steal as if you order it yourself it comes to about $28.

Cheers and ride safe!
