Happy to see there's still many active Beemer riders here. Any good workshops to recommend

I did go to Amir for advise. He's located behind Tampines Safra.

Tacyron Motors, just beside KTM.

Drink. Ride. Bloody Idiot.

During rides when I'm slowing down at junctions and during traffic stops, I can see my rpm sometimes idle below 1000, nearing to stalling. It even died once when I throttle off when I was coming to a stop.

Fuel injectors dirty? Anyone knows a Beemer mechanic (besides PML) who can tune or clean the FI injectors (or whatever causes this issue)?

kobane...could be many things causing your problem.

Be methodical in order of cost and by work involved (lower first of course). I also assume that you don't have any power commander or fancy accessories. Please don't hold me liable as speaking from my experiences (painful ones) and just trying to help.

Side stand and Clutch engaged CUT OFF switch must be working i.e. must not be in 'CUT OFF' position, even if intermittent.

1. Check throttle cables. Sometimes, the cable housing does not sit well in the cable end screw adjusters. Results in rough idling.

A throttle body sync is really not necessary unless you are have really eliminated all other issues (see pic).

Syncing a throttle body is a complex exercise and you should never touch those brass screws unless you're experienced enough.

2. Check spark plugs and replace if need (of course, who don't know this).

3. Water in the Tank? (when bike is on sidestand, the water will flow down to the left whereby the fuel pick up is on the right. Things will be fine for a while until upright or you lean to the right).

3. If you have to remove the tank and undo all those bolts to get to the fuel filter, you might as well change the fuel pump and the U-tube (sometimes crack and leak at age...like people), especially if you have done over 50K since you or the previous owner last did.

If its a fuel pump problem, you usually experience the bike unwilling to pull at high revs.

4. The most painful (to your wallet) but yet, the most likely after hearing your brief description.

- The Halls Sensor

Cable of the HES stiffens with age or cracks when you spray it during a wash or even during a downpour. BMW has an updated version for your bike. Read and weep.

Hope I have been of help. Sorry if the bearer of 'Bad News'.

hi everyone,

new BMW rider here. I just got myself a 1200GS a couple of months ago. I was wondering if you could fit the Garmin Zumo into the GPS cradle ?

I am not willing to pay $2000 for the Navigator V at PML when the Zumo will cost less than half. looking at the cradle, I believe the casing could be removed, leaving only the electrical contacts, so some fabricating would be needed to hold the Zumo. Has anyone done this?

Also, anyone regularly goes for northbound rides on weekends? just looking for short day rides sometimes.

Don't you get a new cradle with the Zumo?

Just change the cradle.....

Damn. That's the exact sensor I changed. So it's called a halls sensor. I was thinking of a house sensor.

Damn expensive. And I think it didn't help.

Damn.

Any of you guys know a good website to order BMW helmet? Any issue so far with the authority so far for those wearing one?

Try this...

http://www.bmw-motorrad-bohling.de/bmw/motorradhelme/systemhelm-6.html

Just make sure they exclude the German VAT which is about 19percent (IIRC)..

OR

Try ARAI

http://buyee.jp/pr/helmet/ad01?lang=en&rc=adwordshelmet&gclid=CjwKEAjwluetBRD98L639p35p0QSJACC8BlKiYQ1WCTXSkCfNYpAu2bLGTa9_gQZW7w087k4dnOd_RoCUarw_wcB

Of course you risk correct fitting when you buy online, the first and most important factor in choosing a helmet.

(Hint - try at showroom first).

Would like to seek advise from everyone here. My previous bike purchases including trade in was to do the following steps:

1) Nego deal on new bike and trade in price of current bike.

2) Sign deal

3) Actual day of bike delivery, push in old bike and take out new bike

However, i understand that PML does not take trade in but will recommend some other bike shop for me to trade in.

My questions are:

1) How does it affect the sequence of the steps i mentioned above?

2) Do i need to pay extra cash upfront even though i've a bike to trade in. My current loan is 5 year and i've completed 3 years. Tricky part is my bike shop may have penalty.

3) If i also want to retain my number plate, how does PML and the bike shop coordinate?

4) How does the test ride works if i'm bring my wife along? Or i can only test ride the bike alone?

5) Any F800GT riders here which can advise the service intervals, price and jobs covered?

Thank you in advance for the inputs.

Regards,

Emil

Hi,

Any battery to recommend for 12GSA? I changed to a Yuasa battery but am not too happy with it. Need to crank the bike a few times to start up. Any positive experience with other batteries to share?
