Hey Veil, I have decided i'm not gonna get his SP. Quite a few friends advised against it. I was also thinking that it doesn't suit my style. Most probably getting a Phantom!

Test it out before buying. The Phantom is not an easy bike to ride for new P-Platers. There is an uneven rear-heavy weight distribution that many P-platers find uncomfortable.

Reading your journey while taking my 2B lesson, it helps a lot. I passed on the first attempt in August last year (but I have taken many lessons). Thanks for sharing your experience, and tomorrow I will finally get a bike!

Oh im looking at road bikes too! I thought of getting the pulsar or cbf. But no hurries actually. So will take my time to lookout for a good one. Don't wanna end up with regrets

Just got a CBF 150, second hand. Not bad!

Way to go! The Cbf150 is a very comfortable bike to start with! I'm sure you are enjoying it now!

@Bill: Meet up with lllee if you can. His bike will inspire you more.

Take ur time to try them all out. Try a street bike, a cruiser, a sports bike, a scooter etc. Each has a very different feel. After trying them all, I decided that the sports bike posture was the most natural for me. Cornering on a phantom felt totally unnatural since I couldn't figure out how to countersteer a cruiser properly. I eventually went for an SP, a KKR and a CBR400 (and hopefully in June, a busa).

On the other hand, a bro who passed a year before me hated the posture, and he felt that it put too much strain on the wrists. He went down the CB125, S4 route.

Biking is so damn fun since there are so many different types of bikes you could potentially enjoy, and each feels absolutely different. Gotta try them all.

Yes, the bike is fun, and still try to learn how to master it. The engine sound is very quiet, but when I cold start, the engine will stall. Possible need more times to warm up.

Take your time and learn the tricks of riding safely. On your choke before starting. Once started, quickly off the choke while maintaining constant throttle for about 4mins or so. Make sure that its not too irritating loud so as not to piss off your neighbors. I find that Honda engine tends to perform better when its warm.

Have fun with it!

I have checked with the previous owner, he say he never change the setting. I guess the choke is the one which is next to the head light signal. It is always at the up level.

Thank god the instructors were good. There was a few occasion I could have got immediate failure, but still managed to pass on 1st attempt!

That is good, hope that you can also pass your TP on your first attempt.

My CBF is quite good, and have installed few accessories. There is a facebook group there, and those people are quite friendly and we have met once. Come to join us when you get your CBF. Best wish to your TP.
