Hi..

Chance upon this thread and found it very informative...

Going for my first practical end of jan...

Not knowing what to expect...

Been driving for 8 years now.. With the COE rocketing sky high... Planning my 2b as back up now.

Gain some valuable insights reading...

And also abit pressurising.. Especially seeing most breezing thru' lessons at 1st try..

In my 30's, being a 1.56m lady... Friends are not really very supportive of my foray into class 2b.. :(

So reading all these encouragement has certainly improved my confidence..

After 8 years.. I've finally stepped into BBDC again.. Stressed!!!!

Every time i go for training, sure got 1 or 2 lady learning one. It very common nowadays.

Sometime when i at the E brake side queuing, got few time lady beside me with a big bike (either class 2A or 2 type) look at me and i look at her. Very romantic. :p

I think we go for 2B for the same reason, Fxxking high Car COE...

70k for a paper called COE... Pure madness...

My Vios costed less then the "paper" 8 years back.

Given the option of throwing 70k to either renew my Coe in 2016 or my BTO in 2017.

I opt for my house rather then car....

Hahaha.. Pls look at road too... Lol...

My height is a major worry... At 1.56m. All are saying my feet will not reach the ground.. I am praying at least can tip toe...

I saw some very young lady very short and skinny too. I think should be no problems, the instructor there very nice to girl one, they will know what to do, don't worry.

Mine one also vios, scrap around coming april maybe can take back 7k+..

If renew not worth it cause a 10 years car don't know can still endure how long till it dies. Every renew 5 years also look stupid.

Thinking of buying 2 second hands also scare the car i get got problems or not? Singapore is too car unfriendly liao, everything $$$...

I rather throw 10-20k to a bike with one time pay off rather than paying high interest every month. Salary all go to car not pain meh?

Motorcycle is more danger, but i rather spend few thousand on gear to wear like a batman for protection. If rain, i take cab.

In singapore, you don't own a car can save a lots liao. And maybe after 10 years of carless can use the money save to pay off your house around 40-50%.

We have the same thinking... Virtual hi-5 to you.. Yes..

I rather have a fully paid bike then a high installment loan..

Vios is actually a very good car.. Sure can last another 10 years.. Especially sporean in general we'll pamper and maintain their ride.. Look at msia.. Ppl still driving their 18-25 year old corella

It's our re Coe crap that force us to scarp at 10years..

Good that u enrolled at BBDC. Heard there is a Sonic Bike which is a "cub" you can try asking for it instead of the usual bike. Heard it has a lower seat... confirm u can use.

During RTT the instructor did mention abt having bikes which are 'lowered' but very limited nos. and it's a first come first serve thingy.. So I hope I am the only shortie there when I am having lesson..

Thanks for letting me know it's called sonic bike.

Your worries are for when you stop. Once you get going, you'll be alright. Be more left biased when you stop. There was a girl learning and she wasn't the tallest, every time she stopped, her left foot on the ground but pretty much her whole right thigh was on the seat. I reckon she was 1.5m tall only !

Ride.. Ride.. Ride...

hello! i dont think you need to worry about the availability of sonic bike during pracs. everytime im at bbdc for pracs, there will only be one or two sonic being used, sometimes not at all :) but i heard if you're 155cm to 159cm, you'll be using the bikes with a lower cut seat instead of the sonic!

i'm a female learner at bbdc, standing at 159cm using the normal cb125 haha :D

 hi hi.. Nice to know a fellow female rider...

Gosh.. I miss the sonic cut off by 2cm.. Lol.. I am 156cm.

I believe the "female bike" is what the instructor during my RTL was referring to..

It's a first come first serve limited qty bike..

I hope to get it for my first lesson.. So I dun have to tip toe all the way while learning the basics..

Just to check.. If it is heavy rain.. Will we get a refund if we opt not to go lesson?? Or $ consider burnt??

I'm sure it'll be available!!! :) even though I'm using the normal cb125 I still do tiptoe :D

You'll be required to wear the raincoat and pants if it rains! There are limited quantities of small sized raincoats so must really grab it ASAP hahahah. I encountered the rain 3 times already that's cos it's the monsoon season.. Even though I grab the S size raincoat, it looks gigantic on me LOL.

Thank you for the info, vvv.

I already got my complete beginner set from helmet boys. So I am covered for the gears..

But now that u mention abt gloves not being too thick.. Or cannot feel the biting point.. Oh dear.. Mine is thick coz it's with gel for protection.. I will get a standby from canteen.. If really have problem feeling the clutch.. I will switch.. Thanks for the tip!!

Sorry.. I just want to confirm.. So first lesson.. Will be in indoor classroom after that only walk out to road? Oh.. I thought briefing will be done out door.. Lol.. Am a rookie,,, so blur blur.. Ok.. I will ask the ppl around...

No worries abt belonging.. I will be driving there.. So will dump all my stuff in my car. If half way during lesson.. I feel dehydrated etc.. Can I go bring a water bottle and keep it there and go have a drink?

just to add on, if you feel that gloves too thick, try controlling clutch lever with finger tips only instead of knuckles. confirm will feel the difference + train up your fingers for clutch control.

operate a vehicle in a way that you benefit other road users pls - and meanwhile, stop whining! be responsible and be safe.
