pin?? not very sure but it would be better if u can tell me more specfic where is the pin located. actually think the speedo is not much of the problem, mayb the speedo sensor tt is connected to the front wheel. wld like to swop my speedo wif some1 n check it out izzit really the speedo fault. but will take out again n see is there any pin behind.

Dani, there's no pin behind the speedo circuit board nor the whole speedo.....

did some tracing b4, the speedo cable doesnt go to the speedo directly. it goes to somewhere under the fuel tank den to some engine part. check tt before, dun think its loose. i stil think is the sensor connected to the wheel.....

In that case why dun u take out the front wheel and give the sensor a clean up? Another possibility could be broken cable.

try b4...... got no strength to take out the nut :cheeky:

high chances is the sensor, after i change my tyre, my speedo was fine for a while. think dani 1 also like tt, change the tyre n the speedo goes well, think till now.

Strange encomnter that i woudl like to share with the Vara125 riders,

You guys ever ride, suddenly while moving fast, suddenly, u trottle, u dont feel the engine at all, and then u notice engine is Dead, u press ignition (nothing happens) *take note all this happens while bike is moving*

then u notice.. the 'Cut off switch' is Off! , so u flick it on, and ignition, and its all back to normal,

Its a rare thing that happen to me, had it happens like some time back, but initialy i suspected that i might had 'accidentially' hit the 'cut off switch' but this rare this happen like 4-5 times in then 2 1/2 yrs that i had the bike, anyways it happen just once today, im pretty sure my hand was Nowhere near the cut of switch..

Any one got this happen to u before?

About meter... could it bethe sensor... hmm... i dont know why i suspect its NOT sensor but the damm meter... why, bec i read post by vara125 riders from UK who had the same problem and they forked out 500euro to replace their meter.. and then all was OK...

and my meter.. start to haywire when it rains.. the heavier it rains the longer it haywire... when its a warm dry day, i rarely (sometimes never ever) get the hay wire problem)

i recently notice.. (u know in the speedo) there are some small screws that attach the 'plate that has the meter readings and number' well one of the screw has started to turn 'rusty' meaning, somehow.. there is a hole where moisture has entered..

but then again, mine and you guys meters problem could be totally un-related, im just sharing...

Posted

i believe when they change the meter, they also change the speedo cable together. now waiting to change my speedo wif some1 n try it out.

what goes around, comes around......

my speedo is the worst. however after replacing the battery because i took out the contacts points cos i didnt use the bike for 2 weeks. After reconecting the wires to the battery it finally worked. everything works speedo thermo mileage. However later that day cos i didnt screw in the connections to the battery properly it didnt work again.
