Derbi Terra Adv 125 and Varadero 125 .. May I know what is the machine price for a brand new Varadero 125 ? where to purchase beside Boon Siew ? And which year is the lastest model ? I only know the first model came in 2001 . Thanks in advance .

Asked last week, boon siew not bring in varadero for now, no idea till when. The sale person mentioned many ask abt the bike.. but very few buy it. guess i one of them

Had called Boon Siew for the price of Varadero 125 and I almost faint ! It cost about 16k on the road ! KTM Duke 200 is only $12k on the road ..

i suggest you find for 2nd hand varas which cost half of a new one. If with alot of accessories then you are lucky. =)

Only two significant models, the original 2001-2007 and the current one since 2007. The newer model has fuel injection and a few minor visual differences. Easiest way to tell is the mounting of the mirrors - on the handlebars for the 2001-2007, and on the fairing for 2007 onward. Instrument panel is also different between the two models.

Yes this bike is a little overpriced, but i would say that it's worth every cent you pay for. Esp with the recent rise in all the 4-stroke underpowered 2B sportbikes, why pay 12-14K for a 125cc sportbike that cannot fufill the purpose of what a sportbike is meant to do? Rather go for a 125cc adventure bike that can take you to places way beyond the border like all it's bigger brothers in the market, just that you will take slightly longer time to get there.. But ah well, the experience itself takes your breath away!

 

But i strongly recommend you to get a second hand vara125 rather than a brand new one unless you plan on keeping it for a long time

hi brudders & sistas... im looking on varadero 125 but i need abit of ya guys advise... hws the fc? i got this deal whereby 2nd hand vara125 cost abt 4k wif rmus pipe and its 05 model. the mileage i checked was damm alot since its 05 model about 147000km. do u guys i think its worth it to buy this vara or get the newer version? and does the new vara 125 hv any fuel indicator bcz 05 dun hv or is it jus the same? really need ur help n advise on this so tat i cn make decision by tis monday haha thanks guys in advance apprciate it cheers

Yes, the new vara has a fuel tank reserve indicator, but it's probably not that useful.

 

Fuel consumption should be better on the FI version, but it's still very good on the old one too. And it really depends on your riding style. I get about 400km out of a full fuel tank, on the old vara - some people do better.

 

The old vara model is definitely still worth buying, not talking about your example in particular, 147k is a lot of km.

hi bro thanks for the advise. ya 147000km is alot sia and its FU plate. jus worry tat it will breakdown everytime hahaha anw bro which year is ur vara?

Mileage doesnt really matter, its shows how far that vara travelled. Bought mine at 121k KM and if u know how to care for it, it will serve u well. My vara btw is nearly 190k already, really run a lot.
