Inverted Gear Shifting

Hi Guys

 

Was wondering if anyone here did or knows where i can to this mod. Currently our gear shifting is i.e. 1 down 4 up but i want to do a reverse sequence like moto GP...

1 up 4 down gear shifting.

 

Any pros n cons? Cost wise?

Pros ah… you will become pro as you can upshift while scraping your left foot peg

Cons ah… your friend will crash your bike if you dare to lend it to them

The reason racers use reverse shift pattern is to make it easier to up shift while fully leaned over, and also pressing the lever downwards is more likely to avoid missed shifts.

 

Are you having similar problems? Or just want to emulate?

 

For some bikes, it is as easy as swapping lever from another bike.

possible, but cost wise will be like an overhaul. however the problem is finding parts.

riding a cb400. saw a bro on the road with the reverse shift pattern (s4) kinda cool...

i wana try something different, been riding my beloved s4 for 8 yrs now...

i tink some changes wud be good.

Actually very cheap to do, just need to change the connection point rod's attachment position.

Can even DIY.

 

I got a friend who did it on his GSR400 by himself, so your CB400 sure can.

dun need to change anything lar bro. juz take the front size 10mm bolt and invert the clamp holding the gear shift rod. did it on my super4. )

as you may know, kicking down is easier than kicking up, therefore, the time taken to change gear is faster

i remembered last time pizza hut bike also inverted gear one.. forgot what brand liao..

i used before.. the pros are just a little tiny bit faster upshift

the cons are slower downshift.

like on the road sometime u want to use engine breaking. or when u want to drop down a few gears to get in the powerband or to pick up speed.

 

i think theres more need for multiple downshifhts rather than multiple upshifts tho.

I have a mod on my gear lever like seesaw. You know those old ah pek bikes? I can kick down to both downgear and upgear. Haha. If i want to switch fast, i use the other end of the lever. If i wearing nice shoes, i also use the other end to upshift.

I have a mod on my gear lever like seesaw. You know those old ah pek bikes? I can kick down to both downgear and upgear. Haha. If i want to switch fast, i use the other end of the lever. If i wearing nice shoes, i also use the other end to upshift.
