I just change to Racing Footrest for my X1R.

Rear Brake becomes not eat / not efficient at all.

Anybody knows what is the problem?

To make the rear brake efficient, which part needs to be changed ?

Thanks.

As I know all racing foot rest will coursers really brake less efficient than the original foot rest. Nothing you can do with it to improve the braking unless change back to original. Thats what my mechanics told me.. (during I ride 125z)

just look at the leverage off the racing brake pedal...the pedal is so small.and in such a tight space chances is that you are unable to apply enough pressure to brake effectively. the ergonomics is really bad.

on my x1...the brake pedal is restricted in size ..any longer it will interfere with the kick start...

live with it..there is no solution ....

if your bike have electric start..remove the kick start and extend the brake lever ..this will certainly help.

Hi,

I dun face problems with my rear brake, my bike has the racing footrest on.I changed the brake pads to Honda items which cost $8 as the shop did not have the Yamaha ones at that time.(The brake callipers are Nissin item so I guess Honda's pads should work as they are they suppy the brake items to Honda ). After installing & fully bleeding them it worked fine, sometimes I just use the rear brake to slow down from low speeds like approaching red light traffic.Btw my rear brakes have s/s hose, dunno if this helps enough with the braking.
