I saw online that China Ipad is selling quite cheap compared to apple ipad. Very tempting to buy 1 for own use.

But what are the bad point of china ipad. Any idea?

Few possibilities:

- They're iPad 1, hence cheaper (iPad 2 is the newest version so far)

- It's actually a "pirated" version of the iPad. It looks like iPad but runs Microsoft Windows 7

- It's actually a "pirated" version of the iPad. It looks like iPad but it runs Google Android, the same operating system that your friend's/colleague's Samsung Galaxy, Archos tablet, Huawei S7 tablet, for example..., might be using.

Potential bad points:

- If that tablet runs Windows 7, chances are it is slow, just like a Netbook* (see Intel Atom-powered tablets)

- It isn't cool to be holding something that looks like Apple, but when you flip the screen to your friends and they see a Windows logo on the screen...

- You don't have the convenience of downloading nice apps and/or games from the Android Store or App Store because you are using something that runs Windows.

- If you were expecting an Apple iPad tablet, at the end of the day the packaging may say otherwise.

what so cool about the ipad? simply indicating to me that that person have the money to throw and buy 1 mega big iphone and i dont.

i do agree about the convenience of downloading softwares and apps. apple and android made it easier. BUT its windows, not too difficult finding softwares as well.

and it being slow? yeah i think so too.

* i am not a netbook lover, but i am not an apple fan boy as well. :cheeky:

I checked with supplier.

It is using Apple mac as operating system. Basic funtion is available.

Anyway i am not so much of an IT freak. But if it can't download app like an ipad does, then it much useless then.

I tried my colleague Samsung Galaxy, i am satified with that speed. Not sure if there is problem when downloading app

I think you people are sheep and Steve Jobbs is your Shepard. Apple products in my eyes, do not suit my needs. In other words, they suck crap to me. Until now, i still don't know how to use iTunes and have NEVER onwed an Apple product. Haha.

I think the BEST tablet would be one with

1) An operating system with the lightness of linux based OS with the capabilities, compatibility and customisations and power of a Windows based OS.

2) A physical design and layout of an Ipad.

Does such a product exist?

If i can get ipad alike for 1/4 the price of original ipad with 3/4 the performance of the original. I would be more than happy enuff for what i get for what i paid for.

I got a Galaxy Tab instead of iPad and netbook because

1. Galaxy is smaller. Much faster and easier to use than netbook.

2. Performance wise, it is way superior to Nokia's Symbian OS and does not lag once tuned. Just stay away from apps that eat processing power. This is not a quad core PC obviously.

3. And it is a phone. I like those "bricks" from Hong Kong gangster movies. Huge phone = fun.

4. Has GPS and loads of surveying tools including GPS, GPS nav plotting tools, rangefinders, advanced wardriving tools etc etc that can be installed from free Android market. Basically a whole world of possibilities with Android market.

5. It's not an overpriced Apple product. I hate the fact that a 32GB version of an Apple product costs like, 50% more than the 16GB version sometimes. Are consumers this silly? The memory chip is dirt cheap.

6. I paid $500+accessories (no plan) only.

Yep, out of box config is quite slow. Once tuned, is fast, just like some bikes :-)

How to make it fast?

If it is worth all the effort i dun mind it a shot. Afterall i can save some bunks!

Simple things you can do are disable animations on scrolling, root the phone to give access to CPU and file system control, use free apps on android market to help you.

Just like for bikes I'm probably happy to tune for people also.

Hey there

iOS is *kinda* like the shrunken version of Mac OS X (fact)

But of course, can't run Mac apps on an iPhone & vice-versa...that one a bit different already.
