Gd morning all..just wanna check on somethings relating to blackbird n the riders itself as im getting one myself this coming August..This would be my first big bike n i juz cant wait for August to come..:lovestruck: :lovestruck: ..so pls allow me to spill out some questions..

 

1)What open helmets(brand/model) are reccomended when going touring?

2)How abt full face helmets(brand/model)?

3)What are the reccomended tankbags to buy which is suitable for touring saying i dun wish to install carier boxes on my bike?

4)How u guys gear up for trips?clothing,pants,shoes,etc..(any particular brands)?

 

I guess dats all for now..btw my name is mamat n residing in yishun..got dis bike frm a fren for COI..$270 for 3 yrs..

i would rec a full face... brands like arai.. dainese.. shoei...etc...

get a tank bra then get a bagster tankbag

thanks for the reply dude..i dun wish to get a tank bra as im afraid the tank colour might be a bit off once i decide to take it off after using it for a while..thanks again..

free come join our outing .. u will see diff color and personalised BBs... with boxes and interesting stuff... U name it.. we have it... hahahha

Helo BBs riders..... Im new to dis forum... Juz wanna get to know more of u guyz cuz I've juz change my bike to Blackbird... Its a wonderful Bike, So shiok.... Previosly riding Africa Twin, but i experice it dat BB is more comfortable with very very less vibration n WoW, wat a machine... Execpt for difficulty in duplicating the key cuz currently i only got one key n dis bike come wit 'HISS".

 

Well Guyz, any advise for this bike?

Cuz juz im new in it...

Jay Jay, I suggest u go and dupl a spare key asap. I misplace my key and was almost going to pay $1,000.00 ( if get from Boon Siew, will cost ard $1,400.00) for a new ECM for my bird. Lucky I paste poster all over my carpark and someone found it 1week later.

 

As for those with spare key at home, I suggest u check the key once every few months. After 3 years, the spare key at the shop cannot be used. It can unlock the handle bar but it cannot unlock the ECM. was told by michael that after too long the frequency might off set.

For touring (long distance for more than a 100km) open face are not advisable due to safety reason.

 

2)How abt full face helmets(brand/model)?

As per Dudu's recommandation.

Tank bag are good for touring, if your don't like bra for your tank....than it good to use any magnetic tank bag....but be careful...the magnetic bag will damage (scratches) the paint work ( for long distance )

Tank bra also good for keeping the engine heat away from you leg.

There are a few brand in the market for tank bag and saddle bag...like Oxford, Baggster ect ..As for me....I used Baggster tank bag and Baggster saddle bag for long trip. Of course there are other alternative like tail bag ect..ect
