Morning Birdies.

 

Last nite almost got hit by a Toyota Rush.Purposely tailing me on lane 1.Road was clear so i speed till 125km/h,suddnely this bugger overtake from the side and showing the famous sign.Wah piang!!!!!So agitated coz i'm pillioning my wife and he tried to cut my lane and i can say it was inches apart.If luck wasn't in our side,i wont be typing this and most probably my 3 daughters will be become an orphan.

wah bro, u ride @ 125km/h yet the car can still overtake u har? he MUST be driving at least 140-150km/h.... i giv him for driving at that speed in sg rd however i giv him a for overtaking a bike wiz inches apart from the side and showing the famous sign.

vac_z, does your insurance cover your bike? Or is it 3rd party? (In case they don't catch the guy)

 

For 4k (I'm not too sure but I think should be around there) can you buy another bird of that age? An option you can consider.

Nope it does not cover cos mine is 3rd party fire n theft. I was offered $7k for my bike in de shop. No way i can get another 1 for $4k.

I think you misunderstood. I'm not asking the poster to DIY, I'm suggesting he asks his mechanic to test step by step. Boon Siew charges by the hour I think, so they're willing to do it, but it may still be cheaper than an engine overhaul, if it's only a minor thing.

 

Some mechanics (not all) suggest you throw parts till the problems go away, not because they can't troubleshoot, but because it takes time. And time is money, if they spend 45 mins troubleshooting and they find out it's just a blown fuse that costs $2.......I think you know what I mean. But they could always charge for labour, and it's a win-win situation for both parties.

 

By asking you to change parts till the problem goes away, they make a lot in selling parts and workmanship and keep the shop busy, but we suffer lor. It's like going to a doctor and he tell you to change organs till your problems go away.

 

I guess you can tell if a mechanic has your interest at heart by whether or not he chooses to troubleshoot the problem for you.

Bro, why not report TP? Since you have his number plate just report him for dangerous driving, I think they will take action. You are a very calm person, if I were you, there'll have been some broken bones and teeth. Hopefully not mine.

 

Hai, why so many accident? Yesterday I was driving in Havelock road got one 2B bike fly in front of me, accident with a van. Didn't see how it happened, but I just saw the bike flying from the corner of my eye.

 

Quickly stopped to go help him, quite worried as he was lying on the ground not moving. But later he managed to get up, and helped to move his stuff to the side. Hope he's ok now. Quite sad to see nobody stopped to help, they just slow down to see, then drive off.

Hi fellow birdies. I was knocked from de back by dun noe wat vehicle as he ran away. I let go of my bike b4 it hit de divider n did a somersault b4 it skidded further. I nearly cried wen i saw my bike after it was pushed 2 de side of de road b4 de ambulance took me 2 de hospital. My bird is in a sorry state in HKL. Ah keong jus told me 2dy dat it would cost $4000 2 bring it back 2 life. If any of u guys hav a whole set of fairings n anything else 2 sell off pls sms or call or post here. 98484040. I will put up de full list of parts i need after i get it from de shop.Tks guys.

to the rest of the riders, pls ride safe as weather has not been too kind with us.. very hot or very wet, and really, too many Mother FXXXers are too inconsiderate or simply reckless on the road. be sure to have yr headlight on all the time and equipped with loud horn.. most of them have eyes and ears in their candy @ss : )

regards to all BB riders,

 

been ridding this 2002 F.I blackbird for the past 6mths, done sychronising, spark plug changed once took over but till now havent change yet (15K run). using 95 or silver grade for past 3 mths due to steep petrol price.

untill recently :

 

1. the f.i remain lit up(constant, no blicking) after i turn on the ignition.

2. it goes away together with the E.O indicator after i start the engine.

 

Problem:

 

1. no sign of prob when warming up.

2. un-smooth acceleration/ridding at any gear any speed sometimes.

3. seems to have uneven fuel/air etc or combustion mixture( i dun know)

4. sudden lost of power and have to throttle harder during ridding. Knocking?

 

Approach 5 different mechanic from 5 different shop, end up:

 

Mech 1 : change ecu & wire hareness

Mech 2 : couldnt find fault according to BB manual, suggest just ignore and ride first. monitor situation or blicking if arise..

Mech 3 : maybe TPS sensor.

Mech 4 : maybe Mapping prob, ecu. Have to leave bike to track the prob.

Mech 5 : Meter wiring, or ecu replacement.

 

anyone having or heard this prob before?

which shop or mechanic really good in this rather than chopping us up?

hi everyone, bike is back after sending to B.S Honda.

from the mech, they did did a great and detail job tracking the prob rather than anyhow change wire harness, ecm, tps etc.. thought the labour its a bit ex, but somehow knowing those components are working well, i m glad.

 

they found that its my meter unit that gave the prob. but that unit is ex too.

i end of never replace the unit. only replacement done was original spark plug thats all..

hi everyone, just to inform you guys for the above prob, it may be due to yr meter unit. meaning total replacement.

I sent my bike to B.S Honda to rectify this prob.

I must really say they are really professional and true experts of our bikes, rather than anyhow replace those good working components, they really track to the root of the prob. only disadvantage as usual, you know $$, but still worth the wait : )
