regards to all BB riders,

 

been ridding this 2002 F.I blackbird for the past 6mths, done sychronising, spark plug changed once took over but till now havent change yet (15K run). using 95 or silver grade for past 3 mths due to steep petrol price.

untill recently :

 

1. the f.i remain lit up(constant, no blicking) after i turn on the ignition.

2. it goes away together with the E.O indicator after i start the engine.

 

Problem:

 

1. no sign of prob when warming up.

2. un-smooth acceleration/ridding at any gear any speed sometimes.

3. seems to have uneven fuel/air etc or combustion mixture( i dun know)

4. sudden lost of power and have to throttle harder during ridding. Knocking?

 

Approach 5 different mechanic from 5 different shop, end up:

 

Mech 1 : change ecu & wire hareness

Mech 2 : couldnt find fault according to BB manual, suggest just ignore and ride first. monitor situation or blicking if arise..

Mech 3 : maybe TPS sensor.

Mech 4 : maybe Mapping prob, ecu. Have to leave bike to track the prob.

Mech 5 : Meter wiring, or ecu replacement.

 

anyone having or heard this prob before?

which shop or mechanic really good in this rather than chopping us up?

hi everyone, just to inform you guys for the above prob, it may be due to yr meter unit. meaning total replacement.

I sent my bike to B.S Honda to rectify this prob.

I must really say they are really professional and true experts of our bikes, rather than anyhow replace those good working components, they really track to the root of the prob. only disadvantage as usual, you know $$, but still worth the wait : )

well, the same old prob for me. F.I lights will just stay on till i start the engine.. i m still monitoring... but just curious how the meter could link to the running performance of the bike.. ??

 

anyway, hope she will be fine as i dun ride her hard.. haha.. or maybe she want me to ride her hard ??

 

and also, have check with the mech that original spark plugs are strongly recommended. for petrol, BB is friendly to grade 95, silver ...

So the Mech at B.S never say anything abt ur ECM juz pointing out the fault lies at ur dashmeter.

i send my bike on friday.. it was a thorough check. i only collect it on monday. the labour charge depends on the nature of the task. guess its not very good to post the cost here. maybe the cost of yr engine oil change : )

 

they did check my ecm etc... everything are working nice.. so i still save a lot on changing my good ecm to a new ecm : )

Hi every1..jus wish to know if changing a batt,yuasa, for 100 buck is consider cheap...btw our batt size is 12 right not 14...hope some1 can clear my doubt..thanks..

hi guys...i jus spend in total 400 bucks yesterday as my coil burn and i thought its my batt but turn out its not...change batt and coil and next mth inspection must change tyre cos botak...this yr spend so much on this bike already...dont knw change wat some more...do u guys face same problem but for me i always not lucky to get gd second hand bike...den was my fireblade now the BB...sigh...ike tis can eat ikan bilis everyday...sorry if i sounded complaining...wat a luck!!!!

hope u change the rectifier too.if u gonna change coil,change the rectifier and battery...if not its back to square one.Sorry abt ur plight.Well thats the risk when we buy 2nd hand bike.

 

1)Never made to Penang trip last year due to battery faulty at the last minute...Sianz but considered heng.

2) My tyre stem valve broke when riding with my wife to Ayer Keroh..leaving us stranded under the hot sun for 30 mins.Luckily a S'pore tow truck was passing by to pick 3 bike in KL.

3)Radiator hose break.Changed the left side den 1 mth later hose from water pump to block also break.The best part is all shop including Honda shop says "No more stock!3 mths later then have!":pity:

 

But managed to source out car hose with same diameter with almost similar bends.

This sat there will be a charity ride organised by the thundering herd (US). Its a worldwide event where all the bikers rides together on the same day ( not the same time thou ).. It cost $15 ( inclusive of tshirt and food). The ride is from Kallang ( KFC ) to East Coast Park. Over 20 biking groups have shown their support by participating in the event. Such groups includes the Storm Riders, HOGs, TZM Riders Club, SMT etc.. Time is at 3pm.

from Hayes Blackbird Servicing Manual, our E.O change is every 8000miles or 12000km together with the oil filter. Not the 5000km or etc ...

 

what about you guys ?

 

Did the bike shop again want to make more money so tell us to change every 5000km ?
