If you try to install the PC3 to fix your fuel consumption problem you're not really fixing the problem right? It's just sticking an expensive "koyok". And I seriously doubt you can fix the consumption problem this way, because the stock ECM may run a tiny bit richer at certain RPMs, but I don't think it'll cause the consumption problems you described.

 

Your problem may have entirely nothing to do with fueling. It could be a stuck brake pad, or misaligned tyres, or a dirty air cleaner, or wrong sprocket sizes. Then you go and install the PC3, will that solve the problem? I hope you get what I mean.

 

I give you a (lousy) analogy. You're a runner, and you accidentally step on a thorn that makes your foot hurt and swollen, and as a result you cannot run as fast. You ask a fellow runner what to do, and he suggests you drink Gatorade and eat more carbo, that makes him run faster. So you try, and you get some improvement. But that doesn't solve the problem, the solution is to remove the thorn from your foot. I know it's a lousy analogy but I hope it helps you understand what I mean by using logic to troubleshoot a problem instead of just throwing money at it till it goes away.

 

The PC3 is a computer that takes the signals from your bike sensors (or the outputs from the ECM I'm not too sure) and then modifies it based on the "mapping" you program into it, to make the components of the bike (spark firing, fuel injector opening times) operate differently. Unlike the stock ECM, the PC3's mappings are customizable. But "customizable" also brings a whole slew of problems of its own if you don't get it properly dialed in.

 

I really suggest you bring your bike to a good mechanic and try to logically eliminate the causes of the problems until you find the cause. I don't think my mechanic will be interested to do this, so I shall not recommend, but I think Boon Siew Honda will. Maybe other bros here can share their mechanic.

hey all.

 

 

once upon a time there was a blackbird. It was mighty. It had plastic.

it was good.

 

then "they " stripped it and expose its balls.

and "they" called it, X-11. it was mighty. It had 5 gears..

it was good.

then it blinked. 2 long. 5 short. And some were p1ssed. Most didn’t give flynig sh1t.

 

then the itchy of finger decided to fiddle with it. And the blinks……... a c t u a l l y w e n t a w a y.

 

heres how it was done:

 

took out the 12mm holdown bolts and propped the tank on an 8" cylindrical object (!)

 

couldn’t get the tank off dunno how to shut fuel line. And whats the other hose for? (hey phil, post the section on tank removal & airbox removal pls?)

 

easy access to knock sensor. From right side. Little black thing. The others are grey. (I identified it due to manual pic courtesy of phil)

 

took it out, sprayed it all with wd40. cleaned it, soaked it in petrol. Let it dry out.

 

when putting it back, discovered the cause of the problems (GASP!)…. The mount is loose! (GASP! X 2) Of all things. Honda Built it to last forever, then let a monkey with a lego set design the mountings. Of course lah screwed. same thing with the CBR blade coil problem. same monkey. this time with multimeter. and remember the earlier super 4? rectifier problem? SAME monkey, incompetent giorgio, cousin of curious george.

 

so, jammed the mounting with cable ties, (any thing 6 mm thk X 5mm wide X 30mm ++ will fit) and made it wedge againt the thermostatic valve. (The thingy that the

radiator hose connects to behind the engine)

 

this morning, NO MORE 25 blinks!

THINK. it comes and goes after spirited rides. whats common? VIBES. Vibration pops it out, then pops it in. its not the fuel. Its not the ecu. Its not the harness. It doesn’t happen to ang mohs on their euro models. Whats different from them? cable routing, weather, culture, food, better looking women? weather over there, less heat and humidity. plastic doesnt deform and get loose.

 

just now went for a quick blast, ALSO, no blinks!

 

will update you all as the week progresses.

bro, i called up the shop and the guy said dat he gotten me a brand new fairing.. den i ask can i get the old fairing back and he said cannot coz must send to the insurance agent.. den i say after sending den i can still have it rite.. den he say dat will be like 3 to 4 months and he doesnt want to go thru the hassle of keeping it.. Pl advise.. I really want to help Vac_z.. haiz.. anybody got spare bike wanna let go... i wanna use it for transport to skul.. travelling from tampines to Jln bahar everyday.. Petrol is a killer sia.. haha...

1)reserve..hmm...i tried with easy throttle...40+km

 

2)if urs is 01 Fi,i suggest u ride til the blinks comeout,then reset the tripmeter,go jb pump petrol until full then see wats how many litres u managed to squeeze.From there u will roughly noe how many more km u can go till empty.the most i pump was 21L..still have 3 more liters to go.

 

3)Standard says 42psi-front and back

Tyres varies la fren...i normally go for Bridgestone.

the most important is it must be touring tyres(BT 14 or 21)...racing tyres are meant for track.

6 track session must change liao.
