Got this off from Ebay. Then fix it up myself. Not really that difficult as ppl think , quite a idiot proof thingy, furthermore there is a instruction manual inside. But make sure ur fingers and hands does not tremble easily.

I think my brakes are due for servicing too. Anyone tried with success, converting the CBS brake hoses to steel braided ones? Where, price, and how long will it takes?

Let me find out from Excel, how much discounts are they willing to give to my new BB kakis here! It would be a piece of cake for them to do now, since they had 3 solid days to play around with mine. But mine is CBS-less, U wanna retain ur CBS rite? Be prepare to pay a bit more cos more hoses are involve and servicing of the CBS pumps seals are required too. It would also be a nitemare to bleed the hoses, lolx!

i also object.. Im not a madmen rider.. u always left me behind remember... I think bro confused shud be the Chief Madmen Rider together with Penyu and Greysnail..

 

 

Well that's not entire bad news to me, at least u are still riding ur BB. In that case, i will proceed with the Ohlins from Sporting next week during my Off days.

 

Anyway guys, i have successfully convert my Bird to CBS-less. The entire 4 day project was hardwork and special thanks to Ah Beng(Bikeworks) and Jawa(SanFu). The 3 Chief mechs (Excel, Bikeworks, Sanfu) came together and made the entire project a great success. Braking power was not compensated at all, and in actual fact, improved. All hoses are now Steel HEL. Total numbers of hoses need is 6 pieces. 4 for the front and 2 for the rear. I will try to take some pics and upload them ASAP.

 

congrats bro for the great mod.. will love to drop 20cents for a try at ur new braking power.. with the delink, im sure you will join the Chief Madmen rank.. hahaa... Orchard Gudang will never be the same again!!!

Maybe can do mass order of the cbrxx meter face. I have always been keen on it, but mine's digital meter. Everything else will be still yellowish!

 

btw, that's a real overhaul cagiva. all you need is a new paint work to make your bike brand new.

I dont think there's any shop selling the meter for the bike.

unless u wanna mass order meter sticker. but it wouldn't come with the LED light.

 

but if order online, can have a mass DIY gathering, and invite cagiva as technical advisor to come down. I don't think it's that difficult too though.

Bros, it is really easy to install. I am busy till tomolo then wed i'll be able to cathch some off days. Pictures say a thousand words. Basically it is just pasting over the new meter background over the old one. No soldering is involved. No slicing of cables as well. Once u got all the new meters paste in their new positions, clip the cables onto a mini power supply unit that comes together with the product. And waaaaa laaaaaa, u done it. It cost me about $92 from Ebay.

There are two versions. 1 is glowing blue background with dark numbers, the other is glowing numbers with dark backgrounds when riding at night. U will only recieve the RPM background and a small power supply unit for this model. Cost is abt $70.

As you guys can see very obviously, this package cost abt $90, but U recieved both the Miles and Kilometers version of the speedo. U will recieved 6 pieces of speedo backgrounds and a small power supply unit.

But the downside of this package is that there is version of glowing pattern. The background will be dark accompanied with glowing numbers.

I believe it should be the same as the Analogue version ones. the clock and mileage indicators are still illum by the traditional T10 bulbs(similiar to pole beam). I changed them to white colour LEDs.
