hi to all..

i have some noob questions to ask...

i am so interested in getting a gilera runner but i am so confused...

can anyone help me tell the big difference between vxr 200 05' model and the new

vxr 200 06' model?

other than cosmetic changes, any big difference in terms of engine, maintenance, fc or any

significant changes the new runner and the 05' model has?

how much otr now for a 05'/06' runner now? i'm 25 yrs old, no p plate...

i'm planning to use the runner for long. many peeps recommend me the new one. i'm so lost. 05' model look sweet too! any shops to recommend a starting search? sorry i'm so noob abt this.

all i want is a runner!

Hi spy, if my setup open pod & lv pipe. If i want to change multivar, what is the roller weight to put? For pick up & long distance.

caculation of correct roller weight depends on a lot of factor like engine peak power at wat rpm, launching at wat rpm, rider's weight, gear ratio n stuff like...thus to set it correctly itz a whole different ball game juz like setting the carb.

But to make things simple, when u purchase the malossi multivar, enclose within is a set of rollers which Malossi had tested to be the "best" weight to be used along wif the multivar thus use dat weight...if it dun feel right maybe due to other mods u hav, then try to up the weight or dwn the weight by a little as the rollers included with most aftmkt variators r the starting guideline to follow.

apart from the fuel tank capacity i think there isnt much changes... 05 runner has 12 plus litre tank where as 06 runner has only 8 plus litre tank... 06 runner has lesser appearance mods than 05 runner... n for 1st hand can u can only get 06 runner... otr for 06 runner shld be 7-8k.... for shops i would rather recommend u to go to a few shop n ask about the price n wat does it includes ... until u find a shop u r comfortable with den buy from them... and also ask someone who knows about bike to go with u...

Straight forward answers

1) Buy a Mikuni TM24 carburettor

2) Change ur piston n increase ur engine compression by installing a higher compression cylinder header

Long Winded Answers

There is no such thing call performace n fuel saving all at the same time. There is only gd fuel efficiency by using a correct setup to the carb.

(Eg of gd fuel efficiency to ME: every single drop of fuel is burn correctly to produce power)...

The best senario after changing aftmkt bigger bore carbs means instead of riding at 80km/h n hav a FC of 24km/l wif orginal but aft changing u can acheive maybe riding at 100km/h n remain the same FC of 24km/l but wif much better power across the range. But all these boils down to choosing the correct crab n hav the correct setup of the carb..If u think itz gonna be a buy, install n "POWER!!!!" then u r wrong.

All kinds of carbs can be used when u think about changing. But u will hav to take note of these few points.

1) finding the correct bore size suitable for ur bike

2) availablity of parts for the aftmkt carb

3) upon fixture, any mod to be made to let it fit n use on ur bike (includes space clearance, intake manifold, position, how secure will be the carb while riding, throttle cable if suitable n many more other issue)

for ur piston, the key is to decarbonise it n check the piston rings...if dat piston u hav had already serve u more than 30 000km then it will be wise to replace it

when did you last changed your belting? from what i know... a belt can last about 12000km after which, you need to change.

my mileage is taking a beating too. used to be able to hit 30km/l. now... around 25km/l. sianz...

A simple tip .

When was the last time u change/service/clean ur AIR Filter?

Is the route that u travel daily full of dust? and sand?
