Hi folks,

Need some advise, apparently my Fuel Consumption ain't the average among swingers here. Ever since I got my bike, I pumped 4 times, 4th time was 'early' because I just did my 1st servicing (845km) and wanted the next pump to be more 'accurate'.

http://www.picturesky.com/albums/userpics/11896/Mileage02.JPG

This is roughly how I calculate, please correct me if I'm wrong. I reset my trip meter at the petrol station, then I pump to the max. When I come back and pump again, I write down the distance covered onto the receipt which shows how many liters pumped this time around. Then I input the data and do a simple calculation of KM divide by liters.

Hey contacted,

I suspect that u might need to 'empty' your tank a bit more before filling to get a more accurate figure. The more litres you have to spread along your mileage will reflect better the actual consumption of your SW.

My SW norm is about 20-22KM/L.

Is your a Euro version  Is your rpm still at factory setting  Do you move off at a high rpm like 4-5k:confused:

Sober > will wait till its blinking then I'll top up the next time around. - thanks

CCK > according to the ignition switch, mine is an Euro version. I've not done anything to the RPM settings. I don't think I rev it that hard when moving off, but let me check in the days to come.

It might not be the case. Just use the distances travelled/the amt of litres pump in = km/l.

Mine is average of 22 - 24km/l. But I always move off slowly and pick up more later. :cheeky:

Mine is also the same lah.

1st bar = 58km - 62km

2nd bar = 87km - 90km

3rd bar = 109km - 110km

4th bar = 130km - 140km

5th bar = 158km - 170km

6th bar = 178km - 190km

7th bar = 200km - 220km

8th bar = blinking. It can tahan other 30 to 40km from 7th bar distance.

Are you using city road more often then expressway?

If thats the case then 19-21km\L is normal.

You can improve a little bit by moving off at 2500-3000rpm (very slow) and then pick up gradually. This way you will get like 20-22km/L.

Singapore have many traffic lights so start, stop situation is not helping the FC.

If you travel normal road then the FC is like that one.

There is nothing wrong with your Scoot lah.

You can try changing other brand of EO if you like and experiment.

Think if you travel till almost empty then pump, that will translate to lesser weight (for the last few KMs) and therefore, slightly better fuel consumption figures.

Even the smallest spark can start a massive forest fire...
