Just curious, how do you clean air filters arh?

Can give some tips? :help:

Anyone here used a K&N air filter before?

If your's a stock air filter, when you go to service your bike, ask the mechanic to take out the right side panel, unbolt the airbox screws ( 12 screws ) and you will see the air filter, ask him to gently blow away the dust and dirt of the paper air filter using the compressor air gun, then put back, it works for 2 to 3 times before the stock paper air filter pass his life span. The K & N for Silverwing 600 and Silverwing is the same, but price quote was around $90 plus range...:giddy: I got my stock air filter from FJT and DIY install myself.

I think should be able to last...... 1 year ? depends where you go, if very dusty place, then lifespan will be less. Hope it helps.

I read in yahoo group, they say that the filter can be wash with water.. I haven't try it yet. Thats why I ask if you have clean your filter before.

That is for normal plug.

For NGK iridium plug, it should be CR8EHIX-9.

For Denso iridium plug, it should be IUH24.

Did the owners' manual give any instructions?

as my previous owner did not change it, then one day i manage to take out and see, wah liao, so freaking dirty, then i go to FJT to buy a new one to install. after taht the FC improve ( last time i ride 200 km the fuel bar light begain to blink, now hit 200 km, still at last two bars. ) and the bike feel smoother too..

with water ?? i tink it is not possible as the originla paper filter as a layer of thin oil to prevent the paper from being torn. the oil helps to keep the paper filter damp and not dry off as ppaer torn easily if dry. What i know of is that K & N Sponge filter can be wash with water and soap, leave it to dry and aply a thin layer of oil to it, same thoery, not to let the sponge become hard, hence decompose.

For the spark plug, i change to the normal NGK iridium, feels a bit better only, as i did not change the power spark plug cable..

hope this helps.

If silverwing owners interested, can meet up to chit chat about our Silverwing and share techanical tips too..

my personal opnopm, 600 cc stcuk in class 2, no big no small, resale value when sell off not high, 400 cc in class 2A ranger, if sell off, it would be easier.

i think for SW 400 and SW 600 the difference is the piston ID size ??

Quite funny, whenever i post to meet up ( without even set the date yet, just asking )... seems like a dead town here ( only bro contacted ) in SW cafe corners... is it ;

a.) am I so loath some ?

b.) i kenna mark by some political person in SBF ?

c.) nothing to talk SW about if meet up ?

d.) Shy ?

e.) doesn't want to share tips and information ?

I meant no harm in making new friends, so do you all here.

I've been hoping to meet up Swingers. But my work schedule is pretty tight as i work mostly till midnight.

So normally try to wait until last minute before committing to any appointments.

I tried posting questions a few times, but somehow feel redundant. So I normally keep quiet and just read the forums. :weep:
